****JANELLE'S POV****
I was already on my way to the house, I decided I had to come early if I wanted to meet up on time for
the Sunday Service.
My mind replayed to what happened between Steff and I, but after some thinking I shrugged it off.
I was still in the car, I didn't know that i was already in front of my family house, I was lost in my
thoughts.
"Madam please we have reached", those were the words that brought me out from my thoughts.
I brought my head slowly to the window and looked around the environment, "not much changes
though", I thought.
I came down from the Uber, the price had already been paid, because I booked for it.
I paid him and gingerly left for the gate, I knocked and it was opened by a new gateman.
"Ma'am please who are you looking for?", He asked.
"I am Janelle....", "Okay it's you that Diaz is always talking about, so sorry ma'am, I didn't know you are
his sister", he said.
I paused took a deep breath and said, "you don't have to be sorry, you were only doing your job, afterall
you don't really know me, you are a new recruit", I told him.
"Anyways are they all inside or they have gone for Sunday Service?", I asked."No ma, they are all inside, I am surprised that they are still around, maybe it's you that they are all
waiting for", he said.
I nodded, thanked him and entered the house.
The house was unusually silent, normally, you would hear the rise of voices from my Dad and Mum
arguing over unreasonable stuffs, but to day was so different.
I heard the clattering of plates and spoons, I headed for the dinning table immediately, I started
tiptoeing wanting to give them a surprise.
"Boom", I said, as I screamed.
My younger brother shrieked and looked up at me, he came down from his chair and ran towards me to
hug me.
"Ohhh Diaz, let me go, you are gonna fall for, and I know you don't want that to happen", I said while
ruffling his hair in my hands.
"That's just what I plan on doing, to let you fall, damnnnn sis, you just forgot me, it's really been long"
"Yeah I know Diaz, that's why I decided to come see you, just you special boy", I said as I pinched the
tip of his nose.
He gave a loud shriek and pushed me off.
"Come here girl", that was the voice of my Dad. I rushed over immediately and pressed myself to his
back with my both hands tangled around his neck.
"I missed you Dad, school has been tiresome that's why I haven't the...."
"Yeah, it's really been tiresome and stressful, that I know, what else do you have to say about school.It also made you bashfully erotic huhh", my mum said.
I laughed at her words, "mum not bashfully erotic, please, everything I said but erotic", I countered.
"Yeah, you are looking so grown up, looking so grown and riped like a banana that is due to be
plucked", she continued.
"Mum??, What are you saying", I asked her.
I could feel tension, her face looked so pale as she frowned.
"Enough with the pretence Janelle!!, You think I don't know what you have been doing at school?.
Do you think my eyes haven't been on you?", She asked.
"Mum!, Have you started stalking me, trying to know where I am, who I am with, and what I am doing?",
I asked.
"Mum please you have been acting so weird, I would have been in school trying to read up for my
upcoming examinations, but here I am arguing with you.
You called and told me, you would want me to come back home, look at me mum, I am here, what
else.
Did you call me here to embarrass me in front of my kid brother?, Diaz leave here", I ordered.
"Diaz??, If you step an inch out from here, I am gonna deal ruthlessly with you.
I know you don't want mama to have words with you, sit down back and listen to all what I have to tell
your elder sis", she said.
I was shocked as I asked myself if it was really my mum, acting all weird.I was dumbfounded, "mum what's all this about, if it's a prank, please stop it, it's hurting", I cried aloud.
I wanted to sit back on the dinning sit, "don't even dare place your ass on that poor chair, a daughter
turn slut, that's what you are", she said.
I used my both hands to cover my mouth, as I wanted to scream in displeasure, "whattttt", that was the
loud growl of my Dad.
"Lydia can you repeat what you just said now", my dad said turning to give me a scornful glare.
"That won't be a problem...your daughter now runs a strip dance, like she dances for men to watch,
damnnnn my once virgin daughter just turned a slut", my mum said.
"Janelle, tell me what your mum said are all lies", he said looking at me straight to my eyes.
I brought down my hands to the top of the dinning sit, I held it for support as it felt like my world was
going round in tumbles.
"Dad?, Do you believe all what mum said?", I asked.

I felt like throwing words at her, I decided to keep calm afterall she's my mum and I don't want to
exchange words with her.
I turned to give my dad an eye to understand me, I wanted to make him understand me, but he didn't
even give me a sign of acknowledgement.His facial appearance looked so gobsmacked. Right now there's no one to hold on to.
I just feel so shattered, my best friend turned her back on me, now it's my parents that turned their
backs on me.
"Mum what exactly did I do to you, I can't believe you are laying false accusations on me, mummy
please try to make me understand.
Okay mum, let me make it clear, yes I know I went to a party, but that was the freshman's party, did you
expect me not to have gone?.
Whereas after that I came back home and nothing more", I said thinking she would give me listening
ear, but it just worsened everything.

Right now I don't care what you're doing, but what I want to let you know is you won't drag this family's

I have worked so much for the reputation of this family, and you won't be the downfall of my family.
