told her. He didn’t want to neglect her because of work.

Sophie replied earnestly, “Tristan, there’s no need to keep me company. I’m perfectly fine alone.”

“Why? Are you meeting a friend this afternoon? Let me come with you. I’d like to know more about your
friend.”
