"I called for this press conference.There's no reason to cancel it."

Cody's face was full of defiance.He almost succeeded! Why did Rupert have to come back at this
critical moment? He was so close! "Rupert, when you went missing, I took over Benton Group.Your
grandfather asked me to," Cody explained through gritted teeth.

"Is that so? Was this really my grandfather's idea?"

Rupert snorted coldly.

"Cody, your ambition got the better of you.In order to seize power of Benton Group, you drugged my
grandfather, causing him to have a heart attack.Then you put him under house arrest.Did you think you
could get away with this?"

Hearing this, the crowd immediately burst into an uproar.

"Bruce Benton's under house arrest?"

"I thought he was undergoing treatment at the hospital."

"Grandpa, are you okay?" Bruce looked exhausted.



Forcing a smile, he said, "I'm fine."

Together, they headed to the center of the stage.

The moment Cody saw Bruce, his expression changed dramatically.

Shouldn't Bruce be in a coma in the hospital now? What the hell was he doing here?

"I'm done for," Cody murmured to himself in a panic.

"Dad, what're you doing here?" Cody asked with concern, feigning a worried expression.

Bruce snorted coldly.

"Of course, you don't want me here."

"What're you talking about?"

Cody forced a smile.

"You're fine.That's great news!"

"Cody, drop the act.You drugged me, spread fake news that I was seriously ill, and put me under house
arrest to seize power in Benton Group.Unfortunately, your plan failed!"

Bruce declared loudly, glaring at Cody.

"What? That’s not true!"

Cody took a step back, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.



"You know full well what the truth is!"

Bruce stepped onto the stage and cleared his throat.

"Today's press conference is cancelled.The CEO of Benton Group is still Rupert Benton.Cody Hinks
will be removed from the position of vice president.He will no longer hold any post in Benton
Group.That's all."

Ever since Bruce took Cody in, he had shown nothing but kindness for the latter.He didn't expect that
Cody would be so cruel to him in the end.He was both angry and sad.

In the end, Bruce showed mercy to Cody.He just kicked Cody out of Benton Group instead of calling
the police on him.

The press conference ended abruptly.

Reporters swarmed around Bruce like flies as soon as he descended from the stage.

was about you? I've been looking for you! When I saw that you were in the press conference just now, I
came here immediately.I'm just glad you're fine."

Regardless of the other people present, Rory revealed his true feelings, which made Annabel feel a

"Rupert, take your grandpa back home.I have to talk to Rory about something."

Rupert's face turned livid with rage.

What did she mean by that? But Annabel ignored Rupert and dragged Rory away.She had to draw a
clear line between herself and Rory.

Under Rupert's icy gaze, Annabel and Rory walked out of Benton Group.

"Annabel, haven't you broken off your engagement to Rupert yet?"

Rory asked eagerly the moment they were out of earshot.

Annabel shook her head.

"I'm not going to cancel the engagement."
