father chose.

Damien fell silent for a moment as he wondered, ‘He’s right. It has been quite a while, but why hasn’t
any news come back yet?’

After a brief hesitation, he decided to make a phone call, but no one answered the phone.



“Dad, could it be…” Everett’s gaze slightly darkened.

The two individuals hung their heads and looked somewhat dejected. “Someone put sacks over our
heads and beat us up.”

Shortly after leaving the family manor, they were attacked and beaten while still in the sacks, so they
had no idea who was behind the attack. They were dizzy for a long time and immediately rushed over
as soon as they regained consciousness.

“Sacks?!” Damien’s face turned ashen. Who’d dare do this?!’
