Chapter 14: She Is Not Vulnerable
Donna walked into the living room with the phone and sat on the sofa.
She turned on the TV, and said in an apologetic tone, "It's my fault.I shouldn't have made you guys
worried."
"Donna, don't be afraid!"
Jane took the phone and said forcefully, "Next time I meet that nasty woman, I will still help you teach
her a lesson!"
While responding briefly, Donna accidentally saw the content on the TV.
She was shocked and her heart seemed to skip a beat.
The host was broadcasting Jonesboro's current affairs news, "John Shepherd has returned from
studying abroad and will soon become a shareholder of Link Global Law Office..."
Donna could no longer hear the host's next words, because only "John is coming back" was lingering in
her mind.
"Hello? Donnie?"
Jane asked anxiously, "What happened? Why don't you speak?"
Donna snapped out of her trance before she paused, and said, "Jane, I still have things to do.Bye."
She stared at the familiar and strange face on the TV screen.
Paul frowned and waved joshi's hand, "I see.’ It seemed that he overestimated her ability to adjust
emotions.
Donna drove away from the villa.
Looking at the retreating trees outside the window, she felt a mess in her heart.
John's warm face and Paul's domineering eyes alternated in her mind.
"Ah!"
She braked suddenly, screaming with her eyes closed.
"As Paul's wife, I shouldn't have these messy thoughts!"
Repeating it silently in her heart, Donna opened her eyes again and tried her best to stay calm.
She squeezed the steering wheel and murmured, "Maybe I am too idle.
She wanted to go to the newspaper office to receive some tasks.
She thought that if she was busy, she wouldn't have these messy thoughts.
Donna took a deep breath, started the engine, and drove to the newspaper office.
After arriving, she stopped the car and got out of the car with her bag.
After walking a few steps, she saw Adam from a distance, and suddenly felt disgusted and nauseous
strongly.
She could not get rid of him.
"Don't you think I will report you?"
Donna said coldly.
Did this person really think she was vulnerable? But this time, Adam didn't behave as wretchedly as
before.
He smiled and followed Donna, "Donna, we are colleagues, so we don't have to cause trouble for each
other, right??"
Donna said in a cold tone, "Am I the one who caused trouble?"
"No.I'm the one who caused trouble” Adam immediately responded, looking at Donna flatteringly, "We
have worked together, so please don't hold the grudges!"
"Adam was apologizing to her?"
Donna stopped and looked at Adam with a smile, "Are you playing tricks again? What do you want to
say?"
As the saying goes well, a leopard can't change its spots.
She didn't believe that Adam could change his mind within just a few days.
"Donna, how can you say those words? I am sincerely apologizing to you."
Adam took a step towards Donna and said mysteriously, "I saw it all in the parking lot yesterday.He and
Susan Shaw were friends.He saw the chaos in the hotel yesterday.
Later, seeing Donna being taken away, he followed, unexpectedly meeting Paul.
The person who kept Donna as a mistress was Paul, whose small action could result in a big difference
in Jonesboro.
"What do you want to say?"
Donna squinted at Adam.
She was delirious at that time, so she didn't remember what happened in the parking lot yesterday.
"Donna, it was all my fault before, so please don't hold the grudges.Don't worry, I will try my best to
help you in the newspaper office in the future."
Adam patted his chest to promise, and said flatteringly, "Of course, I hope you can put in a good word
for me with Paul.’ With a strange feeling flashing across her eyes, Donna knew that he really saw Paul.
She thought, "If my relationship with Paul is exposed to the public, the scandal may spread throughout
Jonesboro.Not only Paul, but YOMA Group would also be affected."
"Don't worry, I will keep it as a secret.’ Adam said mysteriously, "This is a secret between us.I won't tell
anyone.’
