Half an hour later, Harvey arrived at the main hall of Golden Sands’ top general hospital.
Kairi and Elias approached him, looking miserable.
“You’re here, Sir York.”
Even with Elias’s support to take control of the city’s situation, there were some things that just couldn’t
be predicted.
Harvey wasted no time to ask, “What happened?”
Kairi made a gesture for him to follow her. “You remember Nobuyuki, right?”
Harvey froze; of course he did. He had humiliated that Islander and exposed the man for who he was.
What else could’ve happened?
Kairi took a deep breath.
“Saul sent the Islander to us. Normally speaking, we’d be able to take down Blaine and the others if we
could get more information out of Nobuyuki.
“After all, we suspect that his appearance was involved with Blaine.
“However, something happened halfway through our questioning…”
Harvey stopped in his tracks before looking at Kairi. “He died?”
Kairi sighed. “That’d be much better. No, he’s on the verge of death right now. Take a look inside.”Harvey quickly wore the isolation suit and face mask Kairi gave him, then headed into an isolation area.
There was a single room in the deepest part of the area. A few doctors in white coats looked at each
other with horrible expressions.
They bowed respectfully after seeing Kairi. It was clear that they belonged to the six Hermit Families or
the Patel family.
From another perspective, it meant that the situation was dire. If that wasn’t the case, Kairi wouldn’t
novelbinbring so much support in the first place.
Harvey went to the entrance of the room, then looked through the window.
Even he couldn’t help but freeze, despite his usual composure.
Nobuyuki’s head was split open.
If Harvey was correct, Nobuyuki must’ve slammed his own head to kill himself not long after he fell into
the hands of the Patel family.
Even so, he was moving around the room quietly, as if he were actually alive. He would occasionally
make odd gurgling sounds as well, scaring the people around him.
The surveillance cameras inside the rooms seemed to tell everyone that he was still alive.
One thing came to Harvey’s mind.
‘A biohazard!’
He knew something like this wouldn’t happen in real life… After all, how could a dead corpse possibly
crawl its way off the ground?Harvey took a deep breath. “When did this happen?”
“Four to five hours ago,” Kairi replied.
“We suspect that he’s being controlled by some Yin-Yang Technique or a curse.
“A few people from the Patel family took a closer look to no avail.
“We found out that there were still signs of life when Nobuyuki was brought to the hospital…
“We have no clue what’s going on here.”
