1556 Meeting A Family Member
It took a few days, but Alice finally arrived at the City the trio were waiting for her. The presence of four foreign Sovereigns in the area alerted the City Lord who approached them when Alice arrived.
"Don't worry, we don't plan to stay for long." Klaus was the one who spoke to the City Lord who was a middle-aged looking man.
The City Lord looked at them and nodded, seeing four youngsters in the same stage as him made him a little depressed when he thought about all the work he had to do to get to this stage, yet these guys who weren't even a quarter of his age had already achieved it.
Grey and his friends entered the City to check out all the restaurants while Alice told them of her journey to the Forbidden Zone. They also told her of their discoveries while dealing with the Necromancer's hideouts, the Gnomes and also the secret human container they found.
They stayed in the City for a day extra before leaving, since Grey's father hadn't given them the go-ahead to enter the Gnome world, it meant they had to do the side quest of destroying as many hideouts as they could find.
With the help of the device they took from the lady, they've been able to locate a hideout they had zero knowledge of prior to this. Luckily, they didn't have to barge in and could actually scout the place thanks to the man under Grey's control.
It didn't take long before they thanked their stars that Grey had that man under his control. This place housed three Mid stage Sovereigns. Although all of them were geniuses, there was no way they could skip such a large gap. Of course, they felt if any of them could reduce the gap, it was Grey, but there were more than one Mid stage Sovereign and there were also a couple more Early stage Sovereigns as well. There's no way they could fight against such a group.
"Why don't you call your mom?" Klaus suggested, he still hadn't gotten over Grey's mother's use of snow, he would give almost anything to learn that technique.
"She has things she's dealing with. I'll ask if she has anyone who could deal with this without arousing any suspicion." Grey replied.
"Why ask for someone else when she can do it?" Klaus didn't like the fact that Grey didn't want him to see his mother fighting, he calmed down when he thought about how she was willing to teach him and said, "Fine, ask if she can send someone. Maybe the person might also have amazing ice abilities."
Grey didn't bother with Klaus, he knew he was only searching for a way to quickly learn the technique his mother used the last time. He has called her twice now, given how quickly she leaves, he knew she was busy with something, and the fact that Cori always comes with her proved that.
When he contacted her, she told him she would send two people over to help them. Sovereigns weren't people she could order around, but she could at least send out three Mid stage Sovereigns to help out her son.
10:00
The reason she refused to leave was because Cori had gotten to the most important part of her training and she couldn't take her out, if not she would've handled the issue on her own.
Grey knew of Cori's shortcomings, so seeing his mother taking it very seriously warmed his heart since he was the one who brought her here.
Grey described their current location to his mother, and seeing that she was finding it hard to get it, she gave the people she was sending over her communication device. Grey was able to quickly direct them to where they were.
Two ladies appeared, both having a striking resemblance to Grey's mother. They looked like his mother, just younger, and they were twins as well. But that wasn't the most important thing, it was the fact that both were close to becoming Late stage Sovereigns.
"Our nephew is so handsome, now I see why sister refused to return all these years." One of the twins giggled as she saw Grey. she didn't need anyone to point out that Grey was their sister's son, they could see part of her in his face.
Grey looked at the duo, confused. He didn't know much about his mother's side of the family, and neither of his parents has agreed to even elaborate on the matter. He has also tried to dig into his mother's identity during his free time, after all, she was also a famous genius, but he didn't find anything of use.
"Are you related to my mother?" He asked the duo.
"The infamous Grey Dawson, we've all heard of you, we have been waiting for when sister was going to bring you home, but she refused, saying she cut all ties with us." The other one of the twins pouted.
This was someone that is at least ten years older than Grey, yet she was acting as if they were the same age.
The other twin pouted and said, "She only came when it had nothing to do with you. Nephew, tell me, aren't you curious about where your mother is from?"
"Come nephew, we have a lot to talk about." The first of the twins who spoke said.
The twins had the same voice and the only way to differentiate them was the color of their hairband, one had a blue hairband while the other had a yellow one.
"I have matters to attend to, hence the call for help." Grey had to remind them the reason they were there.
"Oh right, you spoke about Necromancers."
Grey heaved a sigh seeing that they've come back to the original topic.
"Yes, we've been taking out Necromancers' hideout over the past month or so, and this one has powerful Sovereigns we can't deal with." He explained.
"How did you know there are Sovereigns there you can't deal with?" One of the twins asked.
"I have someone who sneaked in. He's a Necromancer, but he will never betray me. He's the reason we've destroyed multiple hideouts." Grey could their contempt towards Necromancers, so he saw it fit to explain to them.
The duo nodded. They knew being able to locate a Necromancer's hideout isn't easy, it would either be coincidental or they were tipped off by someone with close ties to the Necromancers.
"What's the plan?" They asked Grey simultaneously.
"Can you insta-kill a Fifth or Sixth stage Sovereign?" Grey asked.
This was the important question. As long as they could insta-kill a Mid stage Sovereign, then their problems would automatically be reduced. Once they take out the first two Mid stage Sovereigns, the other one will be ganged up on and killed as well, with relative ease.
"Will they be prepared?"
One of the twins asked.
Grey shook his head.
"So a surprise attack then?"
Grey nodded.
"If that's the case, they're dead. We can kill them even without it, but not an insta-kill." One of the twins explained.
They had no issues with taking down a necromancer in the same stage as themselves, but insta-killing was something different, it meant killing their opponent without them being able to put up any form of defense, much less counter their attack. Only when one was overwhelmingly more powerful than their opponent can they do something like this, or like in this case, have the element of surprise.
"I can teleport you there, you just have to be prepared." Grey explained.
"Alright, let me know when you're ready.
Grey nodded and went on to follow his usual plan. Seeing how things were, he roped in a few more people. He has also created the array around the place, while also modifying the array present in the hideout as soon as he found out his mother was sending someone over.
A few more minutes went by before Grey was able to convince the number of people he needed to switch places with. The bunny leader had the same job it has always had, making sure no one escapes, while also dealing with the first group they switch places with.
….
Inside the hideout.
Just like the previous hideouts, the only way to gain an audience with all Sovereigns was the same method, mentioning something that has to do with Grey Dawson.
Grey was the most sought after figure among Necromancers, so no matter what, the moment they hear his name, they will give almost anyone an audience.
While the group who stepped forward started to speak about Grey's recent appearance, the Sovereigns listened intently, trying to see if they could figure out what Grey was doing in this region.
They were all engrossed in their thoughts and when two figures suddenly changed to that of ladies, they didn't catch on quickly, and before they could react, the figures attacked.
