So, they went back to the Long Mansion. Yu Qi went straight to the kitchen. The chef was puzzled when the butler told him that he did not have to cook for dinner tonight. He was feeling a bit displeased when he was told that Grandpa Long's future granddaughter in law would be cooking dinner for tonight.
Well, to be honest, he disliked someone come to his workplace and make the mess. However, this girl could be considered as his boss as well. He did not dare to say anything.
He scoffed when he heard that she was going to cook. He heard about his boss's future granddaughter in law. She was a doctor and managed business. How did she have time to cook? He bet she would have cook simple dishes to please the old man.
When the chef saw Yu Qi enter the kitchen, he praised for his beauty. He assumed there was no way that a beautiful girl like Yu Qi had skill in cooking. However, his jaws almost dropped when he saw Yu Qi cutting the meat skilful.
Then, he calmed down himself by saying that Yu Qi was a doctor, of course, she was good on handling the knife because her job involved with knife.
His face had been slapped again when Yu Qi began to play with the fire. He could see that Yu Qi was very experienced in cooking. She even used the herbs in her cooking.
At the end, the chef admitted that Yu Qi was not just showing off but she was really good at cooking. He was relieved that his boss could enjoy the decent food... Not just half-baked cooking.
Yu Qi managed to prepare several dishes for Grandpa Long. Well, she was thinking the perfect balance for each dishes that she made. After three hours later, she was done.
As for Long Hui and Grandpa Long, Long Hui wanted to accompany Yu Qi while Yu Qi was cooking but Grandpa Long dragged Long Hui to the training room. He wanted to see his grandson's skill. He wondered if his grandson's skill was up to the standard. After a few session, Grandpa Long could see that his grandson's skill had improved.
"You have improved." Grandpa Long said.
"Yes." Long Hui nodded.
"Have you seen another teacher?" Grandpa Long asked.
"Yes." Long Hui nodded again.
"Who?" Grandpa Long was kind of interested.
"He is from Qi Qi's side of the family." Long Hui stated.
Long Hui told Grandpa Long that Yu Qi had found her side of the family. However, he hid the fact that they were cultivators.
"Someday, I want to see the person who improved your skill." Grandpa Long said.
Grandpa Long was like Great-Grandpa Dian who liked to spar with others. Long Hui did not know what would happen if both old men met each other.
The butler came over and informed Grandpa Long and Long Hui that the dinner was ready. Yu Qi was waiting for them at the dining room. Long Hui was faster leaving his grandfather behind. Not long after that, both of them appeared at th dining room. Grandpa Long was surprised when he saw a lot of dishes on the table.
"Qi Qi, are you tired cooking all of these?" Long Hui held Yu Qi's hand and inspected them wanting to know if she got hurt while cooking.
"Of course not. I am happy to cook for you and Grandpa." Yu Qi smiled widely.
"You cook a lot. You must be tired." Grandpa Long said.
Yu Qi chuckled. Like grandfather, like grandson. They thought Yu Qi was tired cooking all of this.
"I would appreciate that you can eat my cooking." Yu Qi said.
"Yes... Yes... Let's ear." Grandpa Long nodded.
"That's right." Long Hui also nodded.
Both of them took their seats and sat down. They began to move their chopstick and ate. Grandpa Long took one bite. His eyes lifted up.
"Yu Qi, it is very delicious." Grandpa Long praised Yu Qi.
"Of course. What Qi Qi cook is going to be delicious." Long Hui was acting like he was the one who cooked all of the dishes.
Yu Qi was smiling when everyone liked the dishes that she cooked. She also ate happily. The atmosphere in the dining room was bright. The butler was happy to see Grandpa Long in this state. Usually, the old great general just ate in a quiet setting and left after a few bites.
This time, he could see how happy Grandpa Long was and he was more than usual. Maybe because of Long Hui and Yu Qi's presence, Grandpa Long are more. He would talk with Long Hui and Yu Qi if they could visit Grandpa Long more often. Maybe Grandpa Long would not be so lonely.
"I am thinking of drinking tonight." Grandpa Long said. "Song Ci, go and grab the wine in the wine chiller. The prize wine. Take it out."
Song Ci was the name of the butler. The butler nodded before leaving to the wine chiller. It was indeed a great time to drink the wine.
"Is it okay?" Long Hui asked Yu Qi.
Well, Yu Qi was not a heavy drinker.
"I will be fine. Well, it is going to be okay since you are also here." Yu Qi grinned widely.
She was looking forward to see the prize wine that Grandpa Long kept.
