Josiah said, “I heard that most little children like strawberries a lot. I guessed that Nia would like it too.
Later, I asked Nia’s previous nurses and sure enough, she likes strawberries, so I ordered the cake.”
Meredith smiled bitterly. “You sure are caring.”

“Yes. When Nia needed her father most, you were not by her side. Now that she can’t eat cake
