Chapter 2060 Compromise When the next day arrived, Elisa woke up early, all for the sake of the press conference.
She had breakfast with Gareth.
As per his usual routine, after finishing breakfast, Gareth would head off to work at the company.
Elisa, on the other hand, continued to stay in the hospital. Previously, she needed to undergo
systematic treatment and recuperation. At that point, she was only subjected to daily routine check-ups,
primarily focusing on her heart and lungs.
To be honest, she really felt there was nothing wrong with her health.
However, there was no harm in being a bit cautious.
After the two had finished their meal, Gareth showed no intention of leaving.

Thus, Gareth met Elisa’s gaze head-on, neither avoiding nor speaking.
Elisa didn’t believe that he didn’t understand her meaning, but she still asked, “Don’t you have to work
today?”
Gareth shook his head. “You’re having a press conference today, aren’t you? Even though we only
need some live broadcast equipment, once it’s aired, there will definitely be a constant. stream of
people coming for interviews. I’m worried that the preparations may not be thorough enough, so I
decided to stay and oversee it.”
Gareth had a valid reason, but Elisa was not buying it. “No matter what, I’m still here. All you need to
do is ask your people to stay here.”She didn’t want to interfere with Gareth’s work, nor did she want to owe him too much.
Gareth seemed a bit desolate.
The atmosphere between the two was somewhat eerie, accompanied by a bout of silence.
Ultimately, Gareth relented, “If you don’t want me here, then so be it. I respect your wish. I won’t take
anyone away. I’ll also ask Jacob to stay here and also…”
Gareth was talking to himself, seemingly wishing he could keep everyone from the company there.
Listening to him spew out one name after another, Elisa felt a headache.
“Fine. You should stay.” Elisa rubbed her throbbing brow, finally giving in.
Gareth revealed a secret triumphant smile.
Thus, the two of them had settled on that agreement.
However, Elisa asked Gareth to keep his distance unless necessary to avoid being caught in the frame
and causing misunderstandings later.
In response to that, Gareth had no objections.
Everything was being prepared in an orderly manner, including the setup and calibration of the
equipment.
When Elisa found some free time, she slipped out to take another look at Rachel.
Rachel remained as before, lying on the hospital bed without any signs of anger, resembling a broken
doll.Even though Elisa knew that Rachel wouldn’t respond, she still shared a few personal thoughts, mainly
about recent events.
For a time, they shared a private moment.
No one else was there, and Vincent was gone due to lawyer matters.
Thus, Elisa could confidently express her own thoughts and recent confusions.
“I’m genuinely a bit lost,” Elisa confessed with a self-deprecating laugh. “Tell me, how should I
approach Gareth? Should I accept him? Or should I keep resisting? Also, I’ve organized a press
conference without reporters or journalists, a format that’s rarely used before. Even though I assured
everyone that everything would be fine, I am actually quite unsure. After all, this is something I’ve never
done before. I can only hope that everything will proceed smoothly and without issue.”
Elisa gazed deeply at Rachel as if she wanted to etch the latter’s appearance into her mind.
