The atmosphere in the office was tense even after Elder Master Goldmann had left. Nolan pulled a
packet of cigarettes out of his drawer. It had been a long time since he last smoked, but he did not know
why he had an urge to smoke right now. He clasped the cigarette between his lips and lit it up with a
lighter.

He rose to his feet and walked up to the floor-to-ceiling window. He took a long drag and held the
cigarette between his fingers.
