Chapter 2848

Josh recalled talking about female celebrities in the entertainment industry when he went overseas for a

competition with some athletes.

At that time, most male athletes expressed their liking for Eliza.

Besides the fact that she was naturally beautiful, she exuded an indescribable sense of elegance. Her eyes

conveyed maturity, calmness, and confidence as though she was born to be a rich young lady.

Josh’s assistant laughed and said, “I never thought people like you still exist, Miss Robbins. You’re rare to find in

today’s society.”

Charity smiled and glanced at the time. “It’s getting quite late. Would you like to have dinner together? It’ll be on

me.”

Josh’s assistant did not answer. All she did was shoot a look at Josh.

She was under the impression that Josh would decline the offer, but surprisingly, he raised his brows. “Sure.”

This time, it was Charity’s turn to be astonished. She was just being polite and thought Josh would decline,

considering he hated her so much.

In the end, charity chose a Japanese cuisine restaurant. Those who went for the dinner included her secretary and

the director of the shoot, Director Jackman.

Aside from Josh, who looked cool and quiet, other people were quite chatty and sociable.

When they almost finished eating, Charity glanced at the fish on the table. After some thought, she asked the

server to bring a box over.

“I didn’t know you’d be so frugal, President Robbins.” Josh smiled discreetly while flossing his teeth with a toothpick.

“But a word of warning, it’s not good to consume overnight food.”

“I have a cat at home,” charity explained with a smile.

Josh raised his brows, and a hint of thoughtfulness flashed in his eyes.

After the meal, everyone said goodbye to one another.

Josh did not leave with his assistant. Instead, he drove his car and headed to the place where he caught charity

feeding the cat yesterday. As with yesterday, he saw charity feeding the cat while holding the box today.

Rumble!

At that moment, thunder lit up the sky. It seemed like it was going to rain heavily.

Charity looked up and said softly to the skinny cat, “oh well, do you want to... come home with me? My house is

quite spacious.”

The cat meowed before it looked down and ate the fish seriously.

Charity thought the cat agreed, so she stretched out her hand to hug it. However, the wild cat ended up extending

its sharp claws and scratching the back of her hand, leaving a scar on her hand.

“Tsk, tsk. Are you having a brain fart moment? This wild cat is highly vigilant. Did you think it was similar to a

domestic cat?”

The man’s mocking voice sounded above her.

Charity turned her head around, only to see Josh standing behind her in a set of Neeson Corporation’s sports attire.

With his hands stuck in his pockets, he exuded a youthful aura.

She blinked and was dazed for a moment as she did not expect him to be here.

Her dazed look made Josh’s jaw drop.

“What are you looking at? I came to buy a bottle of iced water.”

Josh bent over and directly held the cat by its neck.

The cat was so frightened that it widened its eyes and dared not move around.

“Hey. You might hurt it this way.” charity had never had a cat, but she could tell that the cat was rather

uncomfortable.

“This is how cats should be held.” Josh averted his gaze and happened to catch sight of an abandoned paper box

beside the store.

He tossed the cat into the box before glancing at the back of Charity’s hand. “Let me handle the cat tonight. You

should go and get vaccinated. I’ll send it over to you tomorrow.”

Charity was astonished. “You hate me, don’t you? when are you suddenly so kind-hearted?”

“As much as I hate you, I’m not that heartless, seeing how much you love animals.” Josh snorted, “Hurry up and get

lost.”

Charity found it amusing.

He was rather arrogant.

“Fine, I’m leaving now. Remember to hand it to me tomorrow.”
