“You’re too handsome, Mr. Gable!” Amanda responded cheekily. “I recognized you from your back!”

Amanda had a good impression of Bruce after their encounter at the skiing place. She dug a candy out
of her bag and offered him one.

Lucian waved at the bodyguards who were keeping an eye on them before joining Amanda and Bruce.
“Why did you follow us?” he asked.

Bruce had no idea he was this wary and sharp. “I happened to see you when I was taking the subway. I
was afraid that you might run into danger and decided to follow you.”

“What about yesterday?” Lucian demanded. His voice might sound childish, but his gaze was sharp

Bruce shook his head, “I was at home all day yesterday.”

Amanda took Bruce’s side. “Lucian, this is Uncle Cooper’s friend. He’s nice, so I trust him!”

Lucian glared at her. “You’re foolish enough to side with him even if he betrays you one day!”
