Lily smiled, "It was just a cover-up."

"A cover-up?" Alexander asked in confusion.

"It was pretty easy.We’ve been discussing what we could add to the raw materials when making our
scented candles and what would possibly cause them to be unstable.However, that day, I was just
saying this to confuse Henry.I didn’t actually make something stable enough to be used as perfumes or
candles," Lily remarked.

After hearing her explanation, Alexander could finally understand, "In other words, it did not matter
whether or not the perfumes or scented candles contained that substance."

Lily nodded, "I didn’t put it in the perfume at all.I merely added some medicine that could cause
drowsiness in their tea.I calculated the time needed for the medicine to work and sprayed some
perfume that could help with sleep onto my wrist.

"Furthermore, Henry was already panicking, and I only needed to give him a slight nudge in the right
direction.Then he would think I did something to the perfume that caused his legs to go weak.Honestly,
if I didn’t do anything, he would still feel sleepy when the time came."

One of the reasons Lily could succeed was because of Henry.He felt guilty and knew nothing about
perfume formulas and their raw materials.He chose this method because he needed to frame Lily or
Justin to become the head of the family.

That was why Henry thought Lily had added something harmful to her perfume to cause them to
hallucinate.

"Wow, so that was the whole story."



Alexander nodded as he finally understood the whole story.

"How could you even fool me?"

He was so confused by the occurrence that happened that day.

Even after he knew it was not true, he was still confused about how Henry had come in contact with the
medicine and showed symptoms of being poisoned in front of everyone.

However, after listening to Lily’s explanation, it was pretty simple.

Still, humans were easily deceived by what they thought they could see.

"How could I possibly fool you? It’s just because you weren't there personally, or you would’ve seen
through my act right away,"

Lily remarked as she placed her arms around Alexander's neck.

Indeed, she was speaking the truth as Alexander had always been intelligent and observing.

Even if he did not understand what had happened immediately, he would still be able to see through it if
one gave him some time.

However, it was because no one was able to tell that it was merely a cover-up that Lily was able to
succeed in leading Henry on.

Alexander looked at Lily’s face and pinched her chin lightly.

"Does this mean I have to be careful? What if you decide to poison me one day? You’d be able to get
away with it."



Lily laughed, "Of course, you have to be careful! You must also treat me better and keep me happy, or
else..."

"Or else what?"

Alexander rested his forehead on hers and caressed her lips with his thumb.Her lips were looking more

Lily blinked playfully.

"That will never happen!"

Alexander announced and kissed her on the lips.

Alexander would make sure to love her for the rest of their lives so that she would not have that
chance.

Freezing the credit card was not an effective long-term plan since it would be usable again after that
period.

Besides, Eloise knew very well that her husband would only try his best to make his mistress happy.

She only wanted to make things difficult for Elizabeth so that she could feel better about it.

After Eloise and Arianna finished shopping, they came home to an unhappy Joseph waiting for them.
