Chapter 10: Sophie, Becoming a Vegetative

Zac had never seen any parents as biased as the Williams.

They had pampered and showered Edith with love but left out Sophie in the cold.

If it wasn't illegal to take someone's life, he would have strangled these three Williams already.

He was really blinded by this family of hyenas.

They had incited him to hurt Sophie and he was a fool to believe them.

Edith realized that Zac already knew that she was the culprit and no amount of denial would make him
believe her.

So she simply cried as she confessed, "Zac, I didn't want her dead! I just don't want her to have your
child.I'm only doing this because I love you! You said you love me too.Then how can you let another
woman have your child? Do you know how painful it was for me to know that someone else was
carrying your child? And it was even her, that shameless woman! You had already divorced her so she
wanted to use her child to tie you down.She's not a good person.Please don't be fooled by her!"

"Enough! Shut up!"

Zac had barely reigned his anger and Edith's words had provoked him Bryanna stood up and said
earnestly, "Zac, calm down.You can't blame Edith for what happened to her.It was an accident.We can
do nothing if she's this unlucky.She'll only bring bad luck to the people around her.But you don't have to
feel guilty.As her mother, I understand.You can marry Edith and live the rest of your life with her.We
don't blame you! "

"Get out of here!" Zac's roared loudly.

His voice was heard throughout the corridor and nearby rooms.



He was really angry to the point that he wanted to kill someone.

Bryanna shook in fear, but when she saw Edith's miserable crying, she gathered the courage and face
Zac again.

"Calm down, if it's because the child was gone, it's not a problem.After you and Edith get married, you
can have as many children as you want.Fortune tellers said that Edith will bring prosperity to her
husband.I'm sure you'll have better children compared to the child of that unlucky woman."

‘Boom!’ Zac had finally lost control and kicked Bryanna with his foot.

"Mom!"

"Bryanna!"

Robert and Edith rushed over at the same time.

Bryanna fell to the ground and the pain from fall made her unable to speak.

"From today onwards, Sophie does not have cruel parents and disgusting sister! From now on, she is
mine alone! Now, get out of here and make sure I'll never see you again.If you ever show your faces
again, I'll make sure I'll drag you all to hell!"

The three members of the Williams family members scampered away in fear.

Zac's fury had truly frightened them.

Zac had always been polite and mindful.

In consideration of past relationship with Edith, he had treated the Williams family with courtesy.



After he married Sophie, although it was only for revenge, he had taken good care of the Williams
family business.

Because of that, the Williams had believed that he was always good-tempered and well-mannered.

Today's event must have shocked them to see that he's anger was far worse than others.

The Williams had finally left and the corridor was once again in peace.

Zac leaned against the wall, his hands were hanging beside him and his fingers were cold.

He had the look of a defeated man.

A great sense of despair and helplessness came over him in droves and he felt that he was about to
suffocate.

He stood there, waiting to see what will happen to Sophie.

‘If she dies, I..’ He didn't dare to think, but if something happened to Sophie, he had no idea what to do.

Five hours later, the lights in the operating room finally went out.

Zac rushed over to the doctor who had just come out.

However, he's knees gave out and he almost fell to the ground since he had stood there for hours and
his legs were already numb.

The surgeon gave him a hand until he was steady enough.

"How is she? Is everything okay?"

The doctor sighed and Zac's heart almost fell.



"We had past the most critical stage.However, her brain has been severely damaged and there's a
chance that she may never wake up again"

In other words, Sophie had become a vegetable.

Zac's mind went blank, as if he had been struck by lightning.

His face went pale and his breathing became ragged.

When the doctor remembered Zac's earlier display of temper, the doctor quickly comforted him.

"But there are always miracles in this world.There are many cases of patients who woke up from their
vegetative state.You might as well pray for the patient.Maybe she may receive the next miracle!"
