The Two Who Have Daggers Drawn

Knowing that he was late, Byron did not notice the two in the car as he strode into the kindergarten

He noticed two people standing next to the slide the moment he entered, as well as Estie who had
practically burrowed herself into Rosalie’s arms.

“Estie‘s Daddy, you‘re here!”

The teacher respectfully greeted immediately upon seeing who had arrived.

Byron nodded slightly and he walked to the front of the three of them. He glanced at his daughter, then
looked at Rosalie coldly. “Why are you here?” Sensing the hostility surrounding the man, Rosalie
inexplicably frowned. To the side, the teacher looked at them in surprise. “Do you two… know each
other?” She had thought that Rosalie did not know Estie just now. However, it was not hard to imagine
that they would know each other considering Estie‘s dependence on Rosalie.

Rosalie nodded to the teacher noncommittally and then met the man’s eyes. “I came to pick up my
children from school, but your daughter wouldn‘t let go of my clothes. I could only wait with her here.”

Hearing the words ‘your daughter’ from her mouth, Byron’s expression abruptly sank For this woman to
say such words in front of her own daughter, she was really too cruel! Rosalie was unaware that she
had said anything wrong. She just saw the man’s expression sink suddenly before he looked at the little
girl beside her. “Come here.” Byron stretched his hand out toward Estie with a sullen expression. Estie
looked at her daddy‘s hand, then looked up at the beautiful lady beside her. Her eyes were filled with
reluctance and some grievance. It had not been easy for her to be with the beautiful lady, but why was
her daddy being so fierce…

Byron’s expression became even uglier as time went by with Estie not letting go of her hand. Rosalie
finally lowered her gaze as she bent down to touch the little girl’s head. “Your daddy has come to pick
you up. Hurry on and go back with him. I also have to leave now,” she comforted her. With that, she
stood back up straight and thought of leaving as soon as Estie let go. Estie did not let go, and no
matter how ugly Byron’s expression was, she just stared at Rosalie longingly.

Chapter 48. The Two Who Have Daggers Drawn

She also was unsure of the reason, but she liked the lady very much. She even wanted to go home
with this beautiful lady.

The atmosphere was somewhat in a deadlock. The teacher was just thinking of mediating the situation
when she saw Byron, who had been silent, suddenly move.. “Estelle, let go and come back with
Daddy.”

Byron walked toward Estie with his long legs and spoke to her in a harsh tone that he had never used
before.

Estie was frightened by his tone. She grabbed Rosalie‘s hand tight and subconsciously leaned into
Rosalie.

She had been standing at the edge of the slide and did not pay attention to her feet when she moved,
almost falling off the slide. Rosalie‘s heart constricted all of a sudden as she hurriedly stretched out her
hand to grab onto the little girl‘s body. The little girl refused to let go of her, so she could only embrace
her in her arms to prevent the little girl from falling down again. When she finally steadied the little girl,
Rosalie could not help frowning. “Byron, if you have any dissatisfaction toward me, you can come to
me. Why lose your temper on the child?”

Byron had also witnessed the scene but did not manage to go over in time.

When he heard this now, he replied in a similarly unkind tone, “How does how I treat my daughter have
anything to do with you, Miss Jacobs? Don’t tell me you think that just because my daughter clings to
you a little that you have the right to give a care?”

The atmosphere between the two was tense.

Hearing his sarcastic tone, Rosalie’s expression turned unsightly. She felt inexplicably angry.
