Chapter 602 Klara's Serendipity

Vanessa was moved by Rufus's words. She did not want Rufus to worry about them, so she comforted
him.

"Don't worry about us, Rufus. The relationship between my sister and Brian is sensitive these days, so I
can't go to your home. When it is over, I'll go and see you."

"My aunt is gone, but she said we can ask you for help if we have a problem. She said you're a good
man. So I'm sure you can help us. Rufus, we'll really trouble you then."

Vanessa said with consideration, she was not sure if she needed Rufus’ help, but it would make Rufus
feel good.

"Good, good. I will wait for you."

Rufus indeed feel better, but he was still not happy as Isobel left.

"Is your aunt gone?"

Rufus asked.

"Yes, I just sent her to the airport."

Speaking of her aunt, Vanessa fought back tears again.

"Did your aunt say when she would be back?"

Rufus asked anxiously, afraid that what Isobel to him was not true.

"I don't know. Months, probably, My aunt said it depends on the condition."

Vanessa took a look at her watch and then said goodbye to Rufus.



"Rufus, I'm late for class. I'll visit you some day. Don't worry about us. We'll take care of ourselves."

After that, Vanessa hurried away.

Looking at Vanessa’s positive attitude that she held back tears, Rufus felt much pain as if his heart was
in the hot oil.

Isobel left his life like this, although she would be back, but he did not know when.

He could face it alone, bear it alone, solve it alone, but he was afraid of hurting Winnie and Vanessa
who were innocent.

Winnie went to work after sending her aunt. Downstairs, she met Brian and Klara.

Brian got off the car and walked to the office building.

"Why are you here?”

not believe her.

Maybe Winnie thought wrong, for Brian, she was a dispensable woman.

Winnie continued to walk forward. No matter what Brian treated her as, it did not matter, no matter how

Winnie came to the office. As she sat down, Bonnie knocked on the door.

"Winnie, did you see Klara downstairs?"

Bonnie said the reason for her nervousness.

Since she decided not to cooperate with Klara, she did not want to contact Klara. She didn't think it was
worth losing her job.

Winnie gave her a positive answer.

Klara did not come in vain today. She failed to see Bonnie, but she had greater harvest. She would not
pester Bonnie downstairs anymore.

"Really?"

"Yes, why don't you call the reception on the ground floor and ask them to confirm it for you?"

Winnie advised Bonnie and then Bonnie went out to call.

"Winnie, Mr. Bennet asks you to report work."

"Where's Alice?"

"Alice had diarrhea this morning and has not come to work from hospital."

Bonnie explained.

After Bonnie left, Winnie was silent for a moment before she took the document to the office of Brian.

As usual, she knocked at the door and got in after gaining the consent.

Winnie thought Albert and Calvin should be there, but she was wrong. She and Brian were the only two
people in the office. And Brian had a face like an ice demon.

"Mr. Bennet, I'll start reporting."

Winnie began to report work seriously, but Brian was absent-minded. He wanted see her reaction,
because he believed Winnie had heard his words to Klara and thought she would had her opinion.

However, after Winnie finished reporting, Brian did not see that Winnie was dissatisfied.

"That's all, Mr. Bennet. If there's anything you don't like, you can mention it."

Winnie looked at Brian, with no distractions in eyes.

"No..."

When Brian wanted to give an answer, Winnie's phone rang.

"Excuse me, Mr. Bennet, I'm going out to take a call."

Winnie asked to go out before she took a look at the phone, because she just need an excuse to leave.

"Answer it right here and then we get back to work."

Brian commanded in a domineering manner.

Winnie looked at Brian and then picked up the phone.

"Hello, Winnie Chambers is speaking."

Winnie picked up the phone angrily without looking at the caller ID.

"Officer Chambers, it is me, Officer Lee."

"Oh, it's you. What is it?"

Winnie eased her tone knowing that it was Officer Lee.

"Penny came out this morning. Now she is in the hospital under full examination and temporarily under
the custody of the prison police. She can’t compose threat to you now, but you have to be careful."

Even if there was no danger, Officer Lee had to inform Winnie, so that she could be prepared and take
precautions.

"She was out this morning?”

Winnie asked. Though she had known it, but she now felt uneasy since Penny had come out.

Her aunt was not at home and she had nothing to do with Brian now, if Penney took revenge, she had
to deal with Penny alone.

"Yes, she came out this morning."

Officer Lee repeated.



"Did you contact her family?"

Winnie was uneasy and worried.

"Yes, no one wants to see her. She's the only one in the hospital now but the police."

"Oh, there's something else I want to tell you. For your safety, I asked the leader to give you a gun, so
you can protect yourself if necessary. In your current position, if a suspect is a threat to you, you can
shoot after warning fails."

Officer Lee paid much attention to Winnie's safety and considered everything for her. He did not know if
Brian had had people secretly protected Winnie, but he would do his best.

Winnie wanted to say she did not know how to use guns, but suddenly she realized that Brian was

"You can't talk now?"

Officer Lee was sensitive and knew someone was around Winnie.

Winnie took her mobile phone away and then conveyed the words of Officer Lee.

"It was Officer Lee. He asked me to tell you that Penny came out this morning and is now in the
hospital."

Winnie Summed up what Office Lee said in a simple sentence.
