Chapter 626 The Kids Knew the Truth

Prev Chapter Next Chapter

Brian was sad hearing Luke’s question.

Winnie had been integrated into his family. It was not only he did not adapt to her departure, but also
his father and sister were worried about it.

And his two kids were sensible, he did not want to hurt them. His separation from Winnie was cruel to
them and would give them a lifetime of pain.

However now he had no a choice.

The meal was warm and happy for the two kids, but Winnie and Brian were suffering in their hearts.

When the meal was finished, the two kids and Brian went to the living room.

According to her habit, Winnie would wash the dishes. But today she left the dishes on the table.
Because she saw that Brian had been watching his watch, he had have something urgent to deal with,
so she went to the living room. After talking about it with the kids, Brian could leave.

"Turn off the TV. Mom and dad have something to say to you."

Winnie came to the living room and went to the point.

Megan had just turned on the TV. Although she was reluctant, she still turned it off.

"Mom, hurry up, brother and I have to watch cartoons."

Megan sat on the sofa, hoping her mother would not waste too much time.

"Ok, I will hurry up. Luke, sit down, too."

Winnie said and then sat down next to Megan.

"You have grown up, and I think you should know it and can handle it, so we decided to tell you about
it."

Winnie stopped at this point. She first observed the reaction of Brian, and then adjusted her mood. She
had to be prepared too if case the kids could not stand it.

"Dad and I decided..."

"Winwin."

Brian stopped Winnie at the most critical moment, but he did not know what to say.

Winnie looked at Brian, but he did not make any reaction, so she continued.

"Mom and Dad decided to break up."

Winnie felt it cruel, let alone the kids.

The kids stared at Winnie with confusion.

Winnie did not explain, because the two kids need time to accept it.

The two kids saw nothing from Winnie, so they looked at Brian. But at this time, Brian had lowered his
head and could not face the child's innocent and hurtful eyes.

"Why?"

Luke asked.

"Because I..."

"Winwin, let me tell them why."

Brian again interrupted Winnie. He did not want Winnie to say the real reason, did not want the kids
hate Winnie.

"Mom and I don't have feelings for each other anymore, so we have to break up."

Brian gave a reason that he came up with on the fly, but it didn't convince anyone.

"Why so sudden? Dad, you promised to keep us together for life, why don’t you keep your words?"

Luke's eyes grew red, but he fought back the tears. Dad and mom were so serious, and in the
association that his mother did not go home recently, Luke believed that it was a fact that they had
broken up.

"I......"

"Forget it. It's my fault. I will take the blame. I can't let the kids hold their resentment on you."

"It's my fault, I fall in love with another man..."

"Winwin..."

"You Dad caught me when I was with another man."

Brian stopped her, but Winnie still put it out. She should face her mistake and take the responsibility.
Although she was wronged in her heart, at least the kids would not resent Brian, let alone oppose his
marriage.

"I don’t believe it. Mom loves Dad more than she loves her own life, how could she love anyone else?
Mom, you're lying. It is just an excuse for your breakup."

Megan broke down. She hugged Winnie crying loudly.

Her Mom's excuse was too bad for her to believe.

"Megan, it is really my fault, there is video evidence, I cannot shirk my responsibility. I have been
unfaithful to you Dad and I don’t like him anymore, I can't..."

"No, you're lying. You would never cheat on dad. You've been single all these years, and you've had a
lot of men chasing you. The person you like best is dad. You wouldn't betray daddy."

Megan interrupted Winnie loudly. She would not believe that it was her Mom’s fault and that her mother
would fall in love with other man.

"Dad, there must be some misunderstanding. You told us that it may not be true even if you see it. You
must have misunderstood Mom. You should know her better than anyone. She couldn't have done
something like that."

Luke finally opened his mouth to speak for his mother, because he did not believe that his mother
would do anything unfaithful.

"Luke, don't say that, please leave me some dignity. None of this is about dad. It's about me. Even the
breakup was my idea."

"I am ashamed to stay with your Dad, to face your aunt and grandpa, so don’t intercede for me."

Winnie took all the responsibility and stopped Luke from speaking again. She was afraid that Brian re-
examine it because of the kids and that he would know the truth.

Now that the kids knew it, she had to make it happen, she had to put all the past behind her.

Luke was distressed, looking at his mother. He had a lot of questions, but he stopped for his mother’s
words.

There was a sudden silence in the living room, only the sound of Megan sobbing could be heard. And
Luke believed that his mother would not betray his father. He thought his mother had a reason not to
tell the truth, so he would not shed a tear.

Being silent for a while, Megan stopped sobbing. Luke spoke again.

"How do you arrange me and Megan?"

"You and Megan live with your Mom, and when she is busy, you go to grandpa’s."

Brian answered. At the moment he felt sorry for all the people here. Winnie took all responsibility, even
if he and Gloria married, the kids could not hate him or stop him from marrying.

"What about you? Do you still live with grandpa?"

Luke asked a question.

"I... I'll go to go Great Grandpa's..."

"Great Grandpa will arrange a blind date for you and then you will get married, right?"

Luke thought of their reasons for breaking up. It must be Great Grandpa forced his Dad to get married,
so his mother came up with such an idea to cheat them.

Brian was speechless and ashamed. That was true and it would hurt the kids.

Seeing that Brian was embarrassed, Winnie hurriedly opened her mouth.

"Luke, I know what you are thinking. You must think I made it up for Dad’s marriage, right?"

Winnie understood the kids well, she was a qualified mother.

"But it's not what you think. It's true about what I said. It has nothing to do with your Dad. Mom and Dad
split up. You can't make dad single forever. Luke, if you want to blame someone, blame me then, I am
sorry."

Winnie once again put the responsibility on herself for the sake of Brian. No matter for what reason
Brian broke up with her, she could not let the kids have any complaints to him.

Winnie didn’t want to see Luke and Megan become another Brian who had a bad relationship with his
father.

"Ok, I understand you. Megan and I have no objection and would not force you to be together by
crying."

"Dad's getting married, and you get married too, Mom. You also have the right to find your own
happiness, and you can get married and have a happy family. As long as you get married, Megan and I
will go to Grandpa’s, and we won't disturb any of you."

Luke said seriously and went back to his room on the second floor, Megan followed him, crying.

"It looks all right. They're old enough to handle it. I'll talk to them again, and you go home."

Winnie got up and went to the second floor, leaving Brian in the living room.

Alone, he felt like he got nothing as before.

At that time he did not like Luke, did not know Winnie, and did not know that he had a daughter, so he
was lonely. Now he got everything, knew everything, but he felt more lonely, because he had lost all his
love.

Emily drove to Leo’s home, and found Leo was working in his computer. He looked fine,, but when she
walked in, she found his face was still pale.

"You are here, have you had supper?"

Leo found Emily, but the work was critical, so he could not be distracted.

"No, have you?"

Emily asked Leo.

"Neither have I. We'll eat together later. My work will be finished soon. I will cook for you later."

Leo could cook even when he was sick.

However, Emily was here to take care of him, she could not let him cook for her. She had no response
but went directly to the kitchen.

Leo's work had been finished later than expected. After finishing work, he found that Emily had got the
dinner ready.

"You made it?"

Leo looked at the dinner table in surprise. It was just two vegetables and two bowls of rice, but he
couldn't be happier.

"I'm afraid of starving if I wait for you."

Emily did not expect Leo to work for such a long time. She was distressed, but she could not show it,
so she could only vent dissatisfaction on other things.

"I've got too much work and I didn't expect it to take this long. I'll make dinner for you tomorrow."

Leo was witty to ask Emily to come tomorrow.

"Eat, didn’t you say you will have infusion today. Eat before the infusion."

Emily disdained Leo. She would not have come if she was not forced to.
