Chapter 14 - He Did Not Appear

Lin Wen Xin has already waited for more than two hours. Wang Shen Ze still has not arrived, neither
has he responded to her text message.

It is her first time preparing for a wedding and her first time trying on the wedding gowns.

And it is a pity that she had to experience all of it alone.

It would be a lie to say that she is not disappointed. But then again, who is she to demand for him to
appear with her at the bridal shop?

Lin Wen Xin was clearly no longer the girl that he had loved so dearly. She now had to work hard for
his love.

So shouldn’t this outcome be expected?

Lin Wen Xin decided to cheer herself up and went on to do the fittings with the store manager. After all,
today is a happy occasion!

The dresses were evenly spaced out and placed on a large gold-rimmed rack. As a fashion designer
herself, Lin Wen Xin greatly appreciated the exquisite and intricate details on each of the gowns.

She brushed her fingers through the gowns gently to appreciate the quality and materials used.

Each gown showcased a different style but all of them followed the common theme of elegance and
sophistication.

The sales assistant then brought her to a private salon on the same level, to do her hair and makeup.

Lin Wen Xin worked closely with the styling team to prepare the look that she is going for.



She has a very fair and good skin tone and so she usually does not like to put on any make up, except
for a light lipstick to further accentuate her beautiful features.

Since she is just going to do gown fitting today, she decided to go for a romantically rolled wavy hair
with light make up.

After Lin Wen Xin was done, she went to try on the first gown that the manager had already placed in
the fitting room.

While she was changing into the gown with the help of two assistants, she briefly heard some muffled
chattering sounds outside the room. But it did not bother her at all.

As soon as the curtains were drawn open towards the two sides, Lin Wen Xin was seen to be standing
on a huge and round elevated platform, together with her strapless mermaid shaped wedding gown in
white.

Wow! She has the perfect body figure that every girl had dream of having! She simply looks like a
goddess!

Even the manager and assistants were stunned when they saw how beautiful and perfect she looked.

However, Lin Wen Xin was even more shocked when she saw the two people standing in front of her.

It was Xiao Yu Meng and Xiao Yu Zheng!

“Yu Meng, Yu Zheng! Why are you guys here today?” Lin Wen Xin exclaimed as she lifted her gown a
little and walked towards them.

Xiao Yu Meng and Xiao Yu Zheng could not help but fall into a short daze as they were completely
dazzled by her beauty.



Lin Wen Xin looked at the two of them in front of her and gave a light chuckle.

“Of course we came to see you! And thankfully we are here isn’t it? How can a soon-to-be bride try on
her gowns on her own?!” Xiao Yu Meng soon complained as she looked around the place and caught
no sight of Wang Shen Ze.

“He must be busy today that’s why he couldn’t make it.” Lin Wen Xin casually said as she smiled at
Xiao Yu Meng.

Xiao Yu Meng immediately rolled her eyes, “Stop making excuses for him already, he doesn’t deserve
your kindness!”

“What is her future husband so busy with that he could not even make time for this important
occasion?” Xiao Yu Zheng stood at the side and thought to himself, with unhappiness that was quickly
swept away from his eyes.

He stepped forward and looked at Lin Wen Xin with a smile, “Wen Xin, you are really beautiful today.”

Before Lin Wen Xin could answer him, Xiao Yu Meng quickly responded, “What are you saying?! Our
Wen Xin is definitely the prettiest in the entire world! You don’t even need to say it! Tell me if I’m right,
hmm? Wen Xin?”

Lin Wen Xin couldn’t help but laugh at Xiao Yu Meng’s arrogant face.

The bickering between the two siblings went on for a few more rounds before Lin Wen Xin went to try
on the other gowns for them to see.

Each gown worn on Lin Wen Xin was only more impressive than the previous one and it was so difficult
for them to choose a few to wear on the actual wedding day.



Xiao Yu Meng really wished that she could get Lin Wen Xin to wear this entire collection of gowns on
that day!

But of course this couldn’t happen, otherwise it would just become a fashion show instead of a
wedding!

Soon, they were ready to leave the bridal shop.

“Should we go back to our usual hotpot place for dinner?” Xiao Yu Meng asked the two of them.

“That’s a good idea! Just so happens that I’m craving for their speciality meat!” Lin Wen Xin is already
feeling excited about eating there again.

“Ahem...! Didn’t we just visited that place two weeks ago?” Xiao Yu Zheng interrupted the two of them
who were chatting happily and had completely ignored his existence.

“What do you mean two weeks ago? If we could, we can totally eat hotpot every day!” Xiao Yu Meng
rebuked him almost immediately.

Xiao Yu Zheng had no choice but to only shake his head and be their chauffeur for the night.

As soon as the three of them got into the car, Lin Wen Xin remembered about her agreement with
Wang Shen Ze and went on to send him a text message.

[Shen Ze, I’m done with picking my gowns. I’m heading out for dinner with Yu Meng and Yu Zheng.]

Lin Wen Xin then hesitated for a long while before sending out another message.

[Have you been busy today? Remember to take care of yourself and rest early!]

Back in the afternoon while Lin Wen Xin was trying her gowns, Wang Shen Ze has arrived at the
agreed location.

It is a small rustic cafe that is situated in the outskirts of town.

When he arrived, Yi Fan was already there and he led Wang Shen Ze in to meet the private
investigator.

Just as he entered, he saw a middle aged man sitting at the corner of the cafe, together with a much
younger girl on his left hand side.

Yi Fan started introducing them to Wang Shen Ze, “President Wang, this is Investigator Hu and this girl
is the one you have been looking for.”

“President Wang”, Investigator Hu greeted him politely with a bow.

Initially Wang Shen Ze could not believe that the girl in front of him is Xin Xin, his first love.

She looked totally different from the girl he remembered.

But the girl tilted her head slightly and showed him the birthmark behind her ears.

This light birthmark is shaped in a unique manner and this is something that he had remembered
clearly too.

It can’t be wrong! This must be the girl!

“Xin Xin?” Wang Shen Ze called out to her.
