Chapter 39 - Where Is He?

But all that was left was his steady breathing. It seems like he is already in his deep sleep.

Lin Wen Xin then decided to give up on the idea of talking to him and give him some rest first.

However, when she tried to withdraw her hand from his... she just couldn’t get it out at all!

She tried it once more but Wang Shen Ze only increased his tightness on her hand, and even dropped
his head on her shoulder.

It was not that she didn’t like to hold on to his hand... but her sitting position is really a little
uncomfortable for her right now. She is currently sitting diagonally and is unable to fully lean back on
the seat.

But seeing that Wang Shen Ze is so worn out, she did not dare to make any more movement in fear of
waking him up.

Throughout the car ride, Lin Wen Xin looked at him dotingly with her gentle eyes.

How long has it been since they have sat together like this?

If they had stayed in contact after high school, how would they be like now? Would they still be deeply
in love with each other as before?

Suddenly, she felt that something was amiss. Is someone... staring at her?

Lin Wen Xin looked up and saw Wang Shen Ze staring straight at her.

In a split second, she withdrew her right hand that was placed on his face while he immediately let go
of her left hand and returned to his original sitting position.

The atmosphere in the car instantly changed and became unimaginably awkward.

She slowly moved back to her seat as both of them looked out of the window and refused to
acknowledge that such an incident had happened.

“Hais... How embarrassing!! He definitely felt my hand touching his face. How should I explain to him
about this?” “That... there was actually an ant crawling on his face??”

Lin Wen Xin bit her lips and thought to herself. She really wanted to bury her head in the sand right
now!

Meanwhile, Wang Shen Ze who seemed to be very composed was actually pinching his knees.

“Seriously... get a grip of yourself!! Why did I even lean on her shoulder?? How am I supposed to face
her now?!”

As soon as the car stopped at the villa, both of them jumped out and immediately went back into their
own bedroom without any delay.

Lin Wen Xin headed straight to the bathroom and did not come out until an hour later. A refreshing
shower indeed helps to clear out one’s mind.

She dried her hair with a towel and what caught her eye as she walked out was the nicely wrapped
present that is sitting on her bedside table.

“Oh no!!! I forgot that I still have to pass him his birthday present!” “Maybe I’ll pass it to him tomorrow...”

“Wait, but that won’t do, his birthday will be over by then!”

“Can this even get more embarrassing??” Lin Wen Xin sighed as she quickly wrote a small note and
brought the gift up to his room.

Her heart is literally at her throat when she stood in front of his door.

Wang Shen Ze was wondering if he had heard the knocks on the door wrongly as he was inside the
dressing room.

Who would be knocking on his door at such a late hour? But he still walked over to check anyway.

He opened the door and there was no one outside. However, there was a gift placed neatly on the floor
with a small note, “Happy Birthday to you, hope you like this gift that we picked together!”

Wang Shen Ze unwrapped the present and immediately recognised that it was the neck tie that she
had tried on him that day.

He let out a soft chuckle as he kept the tie in the box and looked at the empty corridor.

As expected, after knocking on his door, Lin Wen Xin had already ran for her life.

The next morning, Lin Wen Xin went to the dining hall for breakfast but did not see Wang Shen Ze
around.



She looked at the time on her phone. It is already quite late, he should be down by now.

Or has he already left for the office without her, because of last night’s incident?

If she has to go to work on her own today, she better leave now! Lin Wen Xin quickly finished her
breakfast and before she could take a step out of the main door, the driver walked towards her.

“Good morning Madam, are you leaving now? Please hold on for a while. President Wang is not here
yet. I will go to the dining hall and report to him.”

“You mean he is still at home?? But I didn’t see him at the dining area either.”

Lin Wen Xin and the driver were both confused at what was going on. The driver then turned and
spoke to the servants nearby. But none of them had seen him in the morning as well.

All of them decided to go up to his bedroom and check if he is around. Nanny Liang knocked on his
door, but there was no response.

If they did not receive any response that grants them the permission to enter, the general protocol is
that they are not allowed to barge in as he may be busy.

As such, none of them dared to open door and could only look at each other helplessly.

What kind of protocol is this??

Lin Wen Xin really could not understand. What if something were to happen to him, are they still
supposed to stand outside and not do anything?

She then went forward to open the door.

Lin Wen Xin saw that Wang Shen Ze is still lying in bed. The workers behind her peeped in and also
saw that he is still asleep. They immediately retreated and did not dare to carelessly enter the room.



However, Lin Wen Xin entered and walked towards his bed. She noticed that something wasn’t right
and placed her hand on his forehead.

“Nanny Liang, help me call the doctor here!”
