Chapter 22 - Find Another Investigator

Lin Wen Xin was startled when Wang Shen Ze directly pointed at her.

Everyone also quickly turned their heads to look at Lin Wen Xin who was being pointed at and
immediately showed their sympathy to her.

To be honest, no one in the team is hoping to move over to DT Holdings, even if it is just for a few
months.

It is an open secret that anyone who is working directly under Wang Shen Ze, would live a miserable
life.

Yi Fan could totally vouch for this!

And the worst case scenario is that the person might even be fired before he or she could even make it
back to the original company.

This is simply worse than a demotion!

Sister Fei Yi looked at Lin Wen Xin and had no choice but to say to her, “Wen Xin, you will work at DT
holdings until this project ends.”

She was completely heartbroken as she announced that. She really liked Lin Wen Xin and even
planned to groom her to be the next leader of the team.

Right now, Sister Fei Yi could only pray that Lin Wen Xin would not mess up at DT Holdings and return
safely to the company.

After the meeting has ended, Sister Fei Yi signalled for Lin Wen Xin to stay back in the conference
room while the rest of the members returned to their desks.



Sister Fei Yi was still speechless at the quick turnover of events and hesitated for a while before
deciding to give Lin Wen Xin a short word of encouragement.

“Wen Xin, I know it will be hard for you in the next few months, but you have to hang in there!”

Sister Fei Yi then took Lin Wen Xin’s hand and said sincerely, “If you suffer any grievances in DT
holdings, contact me immediately and I’ll see what I can do to help.”

Lin Wen Xin nodded her head, “Thank you Sister Fei Yi. I will also give my very best performance and
will not let you down!”

She was indeed very touched by Sister Fei Yi’s words.

After all, it is rare to find leaders who really treated their subordinates as family members.

Since Lin Wen Xin is going to be away at DT holdings for a few months, she started to pack her office
essentials into a carton box.

She then took the lift down to the carpark and saw Xiao Yu Meng‘s car that was parked not too far
away.

It just so happens that Lin Wen Xin is meeting up with Xiao Yu Meng for dinner tonight so she could get
some help with her bulky box.

“Whoa! What’s with your huge box? Are you quitting your job at Lin’s?”

Xiao Yu Meng exclaimed as she took off her sunglass and helped Lin Wen Xin place the box in the
boot of the car.

“Ha-ha you are half right! From tomorrow onwards, I’m working at DT Holdings.” Lin Wen Xin said as
they got into the car.



Lin Wen Xin then filled Xiao Yu Meng in with the details of what had happened earlier during the
meeting.

Their conversation continued all the way till the food has been served at the nearby western restaurant.

“Yu Meng, tell me if I’m dreaming? I’m actually going to work at DT Holdings tomorrow?”

“I really can’t believe it!” Lin Wen Xin placed both hands at the sides of her face and said with
anticipation.

Meanwhile, Xiao Yu Meng was completely occupied with eating and could not be bothered with Lin
Wen Xin’s excitement.

“I’m sure Yu Zheng wouldn’t mind having another personal assistant.” Xiao Yu Meng rolled her eyes as
she said that.

She knew that she would never be able to change Lin Wen Xin’s mindset and so she could not help but
drop some sarcastic remarks instead.

However, Lin Wen Xin quickly retorted. “How is that the same? It’s an entirely different experience to
work together with someone who is just your good friend versus someone whom you love.”

Xiao Yu Meng shook her head helplessly, “You do know that you are going to be treated like a servant
by him right?”

“Servant...?”, Lin Wen Xin suddenly gasped.

“Ahh! Doesn’t it mean that I will have a chance to meet him very frequently? Isn’t this good news for
me?”



Xiao Yu Meng was completely speechless while Lin Wen Xin remained undisturbed with her excited
chattering.

People always said that “Love is Blind?”

Maybe they should add on another disclaimer and say that it might even lower a person’s intelligence
quotient to zero percent?

It is already 9pm and Wang Shen Ze had just returned to the villa.

He had received a text from Lin Wen Xin earlier in the afternoon that she would not be back for dinner.

Since she would not be around, there’s no need for him to put on an act to come back early.

After all, he is a complete workaholic and he rarely returns home for dinner. Unless... he wants to make
life difficult for his new wife.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Hong Xin Rui and the servants at home have obviously not been notified
of this.

She has been waiting for Wang Shen Ze for several hours when she finally heard the sound of a car
engine outside the main door.

“Shen, you are back!” Hong Xin Rui rushed over and greeted him as soon as he stepped into the
house.

“Mm”, Wang Shen Ze responded with a nod and headed straight towards the lift without giving Hong
Xin Rui an extra glance.



“I’ll warm up some milk for you!” She quickly chased after him and managed to squeeze in a few words
before the lift door closed.

Hong Xin Rui then turned around and ordered a servant that was standing near her, “Go and prepare a
warm glass of milk and pass it to me!”

Very quickly, she reached the study room and carefully brought the milk over to the table.

“Shen, this is for you.”

Hong Xin Rui was extremely pleased when she saw Wang Shen Ze, who was previously busy doing
his work, simply staring at the glass of milk.

“He must be feeling very touched by it!” She could not help but widened her smile as she thought to
herself.

“You can leave!” Wang Shen Ze’s voice suddenly resounded in the room.

Hong Xin Rui smirked as she closed the door behind her.

“Humph, Lin Wen Xin, the things that you can do, I can do it too! You will soon be no longer needed in
his life!”

Over in the room, Wang Shen Ze held on to the glass of milk in his hands and continued to stare
deeply at it.

What was unknown to Hong Xin Rui was that not only is Wang Shen Ze completely unappreciative of
her effort, but her life is about to take a drastic turn very soon.

“Yi Fan, find me another investigator.”
