Chapter 24 - Did He Hear Wrongly?

“What are you doing?!” Wang Shen Ze stared at her with his cold and piercing gaze.

Lin Wen Xin was momentarily stunned and could not respond to him until a few seconds later.

“I... I just saw that the box looks familiar so...”

This box indeed looks like the one Lin Wen Xin had gifted to Wang Shen Ze back in high school.

It should contain the first ever present that she had given to him - a feather designed metal bookmark.

When Lin Wen Xin caught sight of this box earlier, she could not believe her eyes and wanted to check
it for herself.

Not only did Wang Shen Ze keep this gift from six years ago, the box is still in such a mint condition!

Did he actually take it down and clean it every day?

“Don’t you dare touch my things with your filthy hand!”

Wang Shen Ze then threw her hand away in a downward motion.

“Get out!” He commanded in a cold tone.

“I’m sorry, I will be careful next time.”

Lin Wen Xin originally wanted to explain herself but seeing that he is so angry, she decided to quickly
leave the room.

Hais... It was a pity that she did not get to see her bookmark in the box.

But judging by how protective he was over that box, the things inside should be his own stuffs and not
the bookmark right?



Lin Wen Xin sighed as she dropped her shoulders, “I really shouldn’t have overthink that the bookmark
will be inside.”

“What should I do now? He must be so pissed at me...”

She was racking her brains and suddenly an idea popped up in her head!

Lin Wen Xin hurriedly took her bag and left the office.

While she was still feeling discouraged over what had happened, Wang Shen Ze looked at the box and
took it down carefully from the shelf.

As he sat down and placed it on the table, he slowly opened the box and a feather bookmark appeared
in front of his eyes.

His gaze immediately became gentler as he took out a clean cloth from his drawer and wiped lightly on
the dust-free bookmark.

This has already became part of his morning work routine.

It is the first-ever birthday present that he had received from his first love and this gift is so precious to
him that he would definitely not let anyone touch it!

Which also explains why the box is placed at a height that only he could reach for it easily.

This bookmark really has a huge sentimental value to him.

Each time he took it out, he could not help but be reminded of the good memories with his first love in
high school.

The times when they could laugh at the smallest and silliest things...



The times when they cried but still knew that they had each other’s back and are not alone...

The times when they would specially do things to cheer each other up...

Wang Shen Ze could not help but smile to himself as he attentively placed the bookmark back into the
box.

Just at this moment, there were three light knocks on the door.

He quickly ordered, “Come in.”

He placed the box towards the side of the table and picked up a document as he asked, “What’s the
matter?”

Wang Shen Ze initially thought that it was Yi Fan who had something to report to him but when he
raised his head, Lin Wen Xin was standing there with a small paper bag in her hands.

Lin Wen Xin was astonished at the huge change in his tone.

Wasn’t he really angry earlier when she left?

Why is it that he looked so much calmer and “happier” now?

Does he actually have split personality that she does not know about?

However, she soon noticed the frown on his face in the next few seconds and decided to explain
herself.

“Shen Ze... I just wanted to...”

She was quickly interrupted by a cold voice, “You dare to call your boss by his name?”



“Oh?...”

“I’m sorry... I mean... President Wang...”

Lin Wen Xin was slightly dumbfounded. She looked to the ground as she fumbled to re-collect her train
of thoughts.

As she recalled what she wanted to say, she smiled and added, “I just wanted to ask if you have any
work to assign me to do?”

Wang Shen Ze answered her with a sly smile as he pressed on the intercom in front of him.

“Yi Fan, bring out the physical copies of the monthly financial analysis report from the past ten years
and put them in Ms Lin’s office. She will help us sort and file them up.”

“Yes President Wang, I will bring it over immediately.” Yi Fan could not help but cry in his heart as he
replied.

What?! Did he hear it wrongly?

Monthly financial analysis report... from the past ten years?!

Don’t even talk about sorting and filing, even transporting them to her office is a huge problem for him
now.

Is the President even aware of the total number of copies and the thickness for each of it?

Did Madam happen to offend the President in any way?

Yi Fan sighed helplessly as he quickly gathered a few men to help him carry the documents over.



They probably have to make a few trips back and forth!

Meanwhile in the office, Lin Wen Xin was as shocked as Yi Fan.

She widened her eyes as she asked in confusion, “What?... Ten years?...”

“You have a problem with it?” Wang Shen Ze raised his eyebrows as he probed.

Lin Wen Xin shook her head as she replied, “Uhm... no... no problem.”

“I will give you three days to finish this.”

“Three days?...” “Yes, President Wang.”

She was on her way out when she realised that she had forgotten to pass him something.

Lin Wen Xin then walked back and placed the paper bag on his desk, “Uhm... President Wang, this is
something that I got for you. I’m sorry for what had happened in the morning.”

She then gave him a slight bow as she exited his office.

Wang Shen Ze waited for Lin Wen Xin to leave first before opening to check what is in the
bag.
