Chapter 889 Welcomed Home, Samuel

Prev Chapter Next Chapter

Seeing Samuel come out, Ernesto stepped forward immediately.

"Mr. Green, where are we going?"

"You stay here with Mrs. Green and keep her safe. Got it?"

Samuel was serious.

Ernesto paused and then nodded immediately.

After being promoted by Nicole, Ernesto was loyal to her, especially when Zac was on duty now. As
Nicole's only bodyguard for the moment, Ernesto felt particularly honored.

"Mr. Green, I will protect Mrs. Green with my life."

"Thank you."

With that, Samuel left.

Samuel drove alone, and no one dared to follow him.

Samuel returned to the Green's in no minutes. A man who looked exactly like Samuel was looking for
something in the study. Samuel was not sure how Lucas was doing.

The guards were confused when he saw Samuel. Didn't Mr. Green enter the house not long ago?
When did he come out?

"Hurry up. Close all the doors. No one is allowed to open the door without my code. I'm going to deal
with another ME."

Samuel looked stern and grim, shocking the guards who then knew that the man in front of them was
the real Mr. Green.

Did it mean that the person who went inside earlier wasn't Mr. Green?

Although the guards were confused, they followed the order immediately.

Samuel drove in, got out of the car, and locked it up.

Gerry heard a sound in the study. He looked down from the French window and saw Samuel coming
back.

Damn it!

Gerry hadn't found what he wanted, and he was going to bump into Samuel soon. What should he do?

Gerry thought of Lucas the next moment.

Yes!

Gerry could have a firm hold over Lucas to oppress Samuel.

What Samuel cared about the most were his children. If Gerry got Lucas on hold, he wouldn't be afraid
that he couldn't get out.

Thinking of this, Gerry hurried to the door of the study room to go to Lucas. However, Gerry didn't
notice that someone had splashed oil outside the study room.

As soon as Gerry got out of the door, he stepped on the oil and immediately fell to the ground.

"Alas!"

Gerry wanted to grab something, but he was a far away from the handrail.

Then Gerry heard Lucas' voice.

"Do you need any help?"

"Of course."

Gerry had a glimmer of hope at the sight of Lucas. In Gerry's opinion, Lucas was a child after all, and
he might not be able to tell who Gerry was.

Gerry smiled and said, "Help Daddy up."

Lucas jeered but he still reached out to Gerry.

When Gerry held Lucas' hand and tried his best to get up, he schemed that he wouldn't let go of Lucas.

Thinking of this, Gerry looked evil.

However, before Gerry could carry out his plan, Lucas pulled Gerry, flung Gerry out over his shoulder,
and kicked Gerry.

Gerry was dumbfounded.

When Gerry saw Lucas’ mocking smile in midair, he was greatly shocked. Unfortunately, it was too late.

Gerry fell onto the corridor heavily and slid forward because of the oil. There happened to be the
staircase entrance.

"Oh no!"

Gerry seemed to predict something. He wanted to grab the handrail, but some barbs were there. Just
as Gerry grabbed it, the barbs pierced into his palm. Gerry screamed in pain and quickly let go.

Due to the vegetable oil, Gerry fell down the stairs.

Gerry rolled all the way down the stairs on the first floor, but before he came to his senses, Samuel put
his feet directly on Gerry.

"Is it fun?"

Samuel said indifferently, but Gerry trembled with fear when seeing the ruthlessness in Samuel's eyes.

"Samuel, my mission is done. I'll leave the rest to you."

Lucas had someone to clean off the vegetable oil.

Samuel made an OK gesture to Lucas.

Only then did Gerry realize that he had been set up by Samuel and Lucas.

"How is that possible? Lucas is just a child!"

Gerry couldn't stand to lose.

Gerry felt that he didn't crack, so how did he get set up?

Lucas shook his head as he couldn't put up with Gerry who looked stupid. Lucas came to Gerry and
said, "You put your neck into the noose, so there's no one to blame but yourself. Mommy and I were
thinking about where to find you, but you bit the hook. If I don't take advantage of it to deal with you, my
mommy's hard work these days would be in vain."

"What?"

Gerry was bitterly confused.

"I look exactly the same as Samuel, and I haven't talked to you much. How did you find that I'm not
Samuel?"

This baffled Gerry the most.

Lucas said coldly, his hands around the chest, "First, I never call Samuel Daddy. I only call him by his
name. Second, Samuel knows that I have no overalls. But you told me to look for it myself when I
asked you. So what if you look the same as Samuel? You are fake, and you can't be real."

Hearing Lucas’ words, Gerry tumbled to it right away.

Gerry never thought that he would lose to Lucas.

"I am not resigned to it! Samuel, let me go and compete with me fairly if you're really something."

"You have no qualifications to compete with me at all. After all, you have been living in my shadow like
a mouse ever since you were young. Since you want to be me so much, I will give you a chance to
fulfill your wish."

Samuel tied Gerry up and said to the men beside him, "Hand Gerry over to Captain Zac and tell him
that there are new clues about Gerry's death. Gerry impersonated me and killed Olivia's mother."

Gerry suddenly understood.

"You want me to go to jail for you, don't you? Samuel, I'm your brother!"

"No, you're not. You're just a genetically modified human."

Other people might not know what Samuel meant, but Gerry understood.

Gerry turned pale immediately.

Samuel continued, "If I kill you, perhaps there will be another Gerry, just looking the same as the dead
Gerry whose heart is congenital defective. Actually, you're the same as him, aren't you? Elvis can
create countless Gerry, so you are not the only one. Since you come to us, it's time to solve the mess
left by Elvis. You killed Olivia's mother, so you should be responsible for it."

With that, Samuel no longer gave Gerry any chance and had someone directly send him away.

Lucas blinked and saw Samuel standing in front of him. Lucas stretched arms and said with a smile,
"Samuel, welcome home."

"Thank you, my dear Lucas."

Samuel hugged Lucas tightly and was very touched. He was even grateful to Nicole.

It was Nicole who gave birth to such an outstanding Lucas, and she also let Samuel feel the care and
warmth of the family.

No amount of wealth could afford those things.

Lucas felt relieved after knowing that Samuel was fine.

"Alright, I need a good rest. I've been exhausted these past few days."

Lucas said, pretentious.

Samuel touched Lucas’ head and said gently, "Go to sleep. I'll wake you up if something's up."

"I'm going to see mommy when I wake up."

"Alright."

Samuel would agree to all Lucas’ requests.

Lucas was smart, so Samuel didn't need to worry too much about him.

After figuring things out at home, Samuel squinted.

Nicole might not know what Elvis’ research was about, but Samuel knew that. Besides, Samuel was
clear about what Gerry looked for in the Green's.

Samuel pushed open the study door and shook his head when he saw the mess on the ground.

Samuel picked up a book from the shelf and at once the shelf parted to either side, revealing a long
corridor.

It was a secret chamber.

A rich family always had one or two places to hide important things. It couldn't be a safe. There must
be a mechanism at home and no one but Samuel knew about it.

After Samuel walked in, the shelf closed itself.

Samuel walked along the corridor for a while and saw a square table. On the table was the tablet of
Samuel's grandfather, with his father's aside.

Samuel burned incense and whispered, "Grandpa, Dad, Elvis came to me probably because of
Grandpa's research data. I know why Elvis came after the Kents. It screws with three generations, so
it's time to end."

With that, Samuel took out a small box behind the tablet and opened it. There were sheets of papers
covered with calculation data, which would probably drive Elvis crazy.

Samuel tidied up these things and took out the last piece of paper of research data. Although it had
turned yellow, Samuel knew how useful it was.

Samuel found a list in them.

There were four names on the list. Samuel didn't recognize them, but he guessed that they should be
researchers.

After Samuel finished packing everything, he walked out of the secret chamber.

It was cloudy as if it was going to rain. It was just like the Green's, which was somber and was about to
undergo a storm.

Samuel lit a cigarette, perturbed. No one could see Samuel's face clearly in the smoke.

After ten more minutes, Samuel's phone rang.

Samuel saw the caller ID and answered.

"Mr. Green, I want to ask you for a favor."

It turned out to be Zac.

Samuel was not surprised at all. Instead, he felt that it was a little late for Zac to call him now.

Zac seemed to be a real man.

"Zac, you should know that I have bottom lines and principles. I can forgive you before because you
haven't crossed the line yet, but I can't forgive you this time. After all, Petty almost hurt Nicole and
Lucas."
