Chapter 1796: You’ve Underestimated Me

Edison immediately came back to his senses and looked away. He whispered, “I know you don’t have a
crush on me. You like Boss, but Boss doesn’t love you. If you want to try to forget him, I can
accompany you.”

“OK,” blurted Michele.

Edison was taken aback.

“What did you say?”

The happiness came so suddenly. He thought he had misheard something, so he wanted to confirm.

Michele suddenly thought that Edison was quite adorable.

It turned out that once she switched her focus, she could find another man’s advantages as well.

Michele felt much better.

With a smile, she said, “I said we can try to see each other first. But I can’t guarantee I can forget
Lucas in a short time. Probably I can’t forget him all my life. Don’t you mind?”

Edison felt it was his lucky day indeed.

Yasmeen said she liked strawberries. He smiled.

“Excuse me, I want to have two and a half kilos strawberries.”

“Okay.”

The store owner immediately trotted over.

Lucas took the strawberries back to the hotel. Then he went straight into the suite.

On the other side, Yasmeen went to her private hospital. Sure enough, she directly asked Brent to give
her a checkup.

Brent remembered Lucas’s reminder. He said in a low voice, “Princess Yasmeen, I can’t fill out the form
without checking up on you. I’m afraid you should go through the procedure. Then I can fill out the
form.”

Yasmeen frowned instantly.

“Must I go through it?”

“Yeah. I’m afraid so.”



Brent held back fears in his heart and looked at Yasmeen confidently.

Yasmeen didn’t suspect Brent. Upon hearing it, she had to go through the checkup procedure.

Brent breathed a sigh of relief after she was gone, feeling that he almost broke down.

To help Joseph, he had risked the future of his career life. He wished that Joseph could appreciate him.

Brent quickly operated.

Right after Yasmeen’s health check was done, Lucas had received her report.

Her immunity was low, and so was her resistance.

Yasmeen had seldom got sick in the past, but she often got a cold in the recent six months.

After receiving the data, Lucas felt quite upset. Immediately, he sent the report to Joseph.

Joseph frowned when reading it.

“Her condition isn’t good. She’s been like this right after the kidney transplant. I’m afraid she can’t live
long if it continues so.”

“That’s why I need your help, Joseph.”

Joseph was the only one that Lucas trusted now.

Joseph nodded and said, “All right. I’ll look for the renal source for you after I arrive tomorrow at the
latest.”

“Okay.”

Lucas was finally relieved.



After hanging up the phone, he directly burned the report and opened the window for some fresh air.

There was a call from an unknown number on his phone.

Lucas slightly frowned. However, he quickly swiped to answer.

He and the other party didn’t speak. However, his intuition told him that the other party should be
Julian.

Julian wanted to hear how Lucas would react when answering a phone from an unknown number.
However, he didn’t hear Lucas speak at all. For a moment, Julian didn’t know what he should speak.
He also felt reluctant if he hung it up directly.

“Hello, Lucas Green,” finally, Julian failed and spoke first.

“Ehn. Julian Humfrey.”

Lucas’s tone was quite positive.

Lucas wasn’t impacted by this phone call at all. He kept wondering where Yasmeen should go for the
operation after Joseph arrived.

Also, Ashley might arrive at dawn. Lucas wondered what he should do.

After thinking for a moment, Lucas wanted to decide on the hospital first.

He directly went to another room and started a video call with Joseph to have a discussion.

When Yasmeen came back, Lucas was still on the call with Joseph.

She heard Joseph’s voice, so she didn’t want to interrupt them. Instead, she tiptoed into her room.

She saw strawberries that fully occupied her room.

Some of them were hanging on the window. Some were placed on the table and bed, all forming in
heart shapes.

How romantic!

Yasmeen felt touched and warm in her heart, as if there were pink bubbles in the air.



She immediately trotted over.

On the balcony, the top of the strawberries was pasted by the tape. Under the sunshine, the heart
shapes made them look so attractive and tasty.

Yasmeen giggled. Tilting her head, she stared at the romantic scene that Lucas rarely showed her. The
sweetness in her heart made her feel as if she were in a dream.

She reached out, pinched one gently, and put it in her mouth.

It was so sweet.

The sweetness came from the tip of her tongue to the bottom of her heart, and then it flew all over her
body.

Yasmeen grinned ear to ear. She couldn’t help screaming and laughing.

“Do you like them?”

Suddenly, Lucas appeared at the door.

Yasmeen instantly turned around. She found that Lucas, who was standing with his hands in the
pockets while leaning against the door, was so handsome and warm.

She trotted over, hopped on him, and her legs gripped his waist tightly. Wrapping her arms around his
neck, she pecked on Lucas’s cheek loudly.
