When Nicole saw Cara's call, she immediately felt nervous, and she became more and more anxious.

"What's the matter?"

Seeing that Nicole's face became pale, Samuel couldn't help but comfort her.

"It's grandpa! Samuel, what should I do if something happens to him..."

She didn't continue, but Samuel could clearly notice Nicole trembling.

"Don't think too much. Viola is under our surveillance, isn't she? Maybe Cara called to ask us to go over
for dinner?"

Samuel comforted her, but even he didn't believe what he had said.

Nicole, however, needed such an excuse.

She nodded, took a deep breath, and then answered the phone.

"Cara, what's wrong?"

Nicole's voice was trembling.

Viola was like a time bomb. No matter how well Nicole did it, she was afraid of missing something. Now
that it could be clearly seen that Viola did harm to Edwin, how could she not be worried?

If something unexpected happened to Edwin because she had Viola with him, Nicole really felt that it
was all her fault.

Hearing Nicole's trembling voice, Cara paused for a moment before saying, "Mrs. Green, Mr. Shaw
suddenly fainted."

"What do you mean?"

Nicole was going crazy.

Cara said immediately, "He has been sent to the hospital. I've checked. Nothing is wrong with his food
and clothing. Furthermore, I have moved the flowers out of the room. I don't know why he suddenly
fainted."

"I'll be there right away. Send me the location of the hospital."

Nicole's heart constantly sank, and her hands were also a little cold.

Samuel hurriedly held her hand and whispered, "It's alright. Old man sometimes faints for no reason. I'll
ask the doctor to check grandpa's body. Don't worry."

Nicole nodded.

Because of this, they had to leave early, while the children were taken care of by Blair and Steven.

When Nicole and Samuel arrived at the hospital, Steve, Cara and Viola were all there.

Viola's eyes were red, as if she had cried.

Nicole cast a glance at her and asked Steve directly, "Steve, how is my grandpa?"

"I don't know yet. He was just sent in."

Steve also worried a lot.

Samuel comforted Nicole in a low voice and went to look for the director.

Nicole knew that he was going for his grandfather.

Viola had been sitting there, lowering her head, with no reaction to Nicole's arrival.

Nicole looked at her, with rising anger.

This woman shared the same blood with her, but she was vicious. She had planned to harm grandpa
earlier, and this time, it might have something to do with her.

Thinking of this, Nicole grabbed Viola's collar with one hand and pulled her up from the chair.

"Did you do it?"

Nicole gritted her teeth.

Viola said grievously with red eyes, "What are you talking about? How can I do anything to my
grandfather? He is the only family I have in this world."

If Mrs. Don hadn't been hurt, Nicole might have been tricked by Viola's current appearance. It was not
long ago that Cara felt Viola's intention of murder. Now that something had happened to Edwin, she felt
that it had something to do with Viola.

Nicole took a deep breath and said fiercely, "You'd better pray that I won't get the evidence. Otherwise,
you might not have thought of the price I will let you pay."

"Are you threatening me? Why are you threatening me? Nicole, don't pretend to be a righteous
guardian. Listen, this accident has nothing to do with me."

Viola wanted to get away from Nicole, but she couldn't.

Nicole wanted to strangle her to death, but she couldn't.

This was hospital, and Edwin was a very upright person. If he knew that her hands were stained with
Viola's blood, he would be disappointed.

Thousand kinds of thoughts surged in Nicole's mind, quickly settling down.

She let Viola go, with coldness in her eyes.

"It would be better if it has nothing to do with you. Otherwise, I'll make you feel that it's even a luxury for
you to die easily. If you don't believe me, you can have a try."

Viola was obviously frightened by Nicole's gaze.

This woman's aura was different from when Mrs. Don was still alive.

However, Viola quickly gathered her wits and was a little angry at her timidity.

Why was Nicole so arrogant in front of her?

Wasn't their mother the same person?

What does she feel superior about?

Thinking of this, Viola stared at Nicole with an unconvinced expression.

Nicole wasn't willing to argue with her anymore and directly threw her aside. She looked at the
emergency room worriedly.

About an hour later, Edwin was out, and a few people quickly walked forward.

"Doctor, how is my grandpa?"

Nicole was very anxious.

The doctor had received a call from the director inside the emergency room, and he was asked to give
Edwin a comprehensive check-up. Now, the result had come out.

"Mrs. Green, there is nothing serious with Mr. Shaw. It's mainly due to the lack of oxygen in his brain.
Maybe he didn't have a good sleep recently. I have checked him up. Don't worry. Mr. Shaw will wake up
in a while."

Hearing the doctor's words, Nicole finally felt relieved.

Viola gritted her teeth and said, "Nicole, you need to apologize to me."

"Apologize to you? No way."

Although it wasn't necessarily related to Viola, Nicole couldn't ignore Viola's intention of murder towards
Edwin.

Edwin was taken back to the ward, and Samuel returned.

When Viola saw Samuel's return, she leaned to the side, lowering her sense of being there.

After such a long time, Nicole was able to be so arrogant only because of Samuel's love towards her.
Although Viola wanted to destroy this love, she had seen Samuel's methods before. Under the
circumstances where she was not sure that she would beat her down in one blow, Viola felt that it was
better for her to preserve her strength.

Nicole was very nervous about Edwin. Samuel held her hand tightly and said, "Grandpa is alright. Don't
worry."

"OK."

Seeing that Nicole was so worried, Cara said guiltily, "Mrs. Green, I'm so sorry. I didn't take good care
of Edwin."

"It has nothing to do with you. You're also a human being. You can't stay awake 24 hours a day and
notice everything. Besides, you couldn't know if my grandfather slept well at night."

Nicole did not blame Cara.

Cara also tried her best to deal with this matter.

Steve did not say anything, but when he heard that Edwin was alright, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Not long after, Edwin woke up.

When he saw Nicole, he was a little confused.

"Nicole? What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Just as Edwin finished speaking, Nicole threw herself into Edwin's arms, tears flowing out of her eyes.

"Grandpa, you can't scare me like this anymore. Do you know that I'm almost scared to death?"

Nicole's voice was trembling.

Edwin immediately laughed.

"My silly girl, I'm fine. I just stayed up late last night and fainted for a while. OK. It's my fault. Don't cry.
Look at you. You're a mother now but you still like to cry. Aren't you afraid that the children will laugh at
you?"

Edwin was in a good mood.

"No. I'm just afraid that something would happen to grandpa."

Nicole stayed in Edwin's embrace deliberately.

Viola looked at the interaction between them and wanted to grind her teeth.

He was also her grandfather.

But ever since she came back, Edwin had never hugged her. Every day, other than punishment, he
would blame her, and there was not a single nice word.

This damn old man!

They were all her granddaughters. Why did he like Nicole so much and didn't like her?

Wasn't she Audrey's daughter?

Since he didn't like her, why should she respect him as her grandpa?

A trace of killing intention flashed through Viola's eyes.

Samuel's eyes suddenly turned cold, which scared Viola so much that she hurriedly lowered her head,
but she could not conceal her jealousy and anger.

These two people were going too far!

Nicole deserved to die!

So did Edwin!

Anyone who treated her badly deserved to die!

Viola's hands clenched tightly together.

Samuel frowned slightly and made an eye contact with Steve. Steve immediately understood that he
should be more cautious when monitoring Viola.

Nicole did not notice Viola's actions. She talked to Edwin for a while and confirmed that Edwin was fine
before she drove Edwin back with Samuel.

Every one of the Shaws was very cautious. Cara even wanted to live in Edwin's room.

Seeing that everyone was so nervous, Edwin smiled and said, "I'm not a weak scholar. Why are you all
so nervous? Nicole, I am really fine. Well, don't make yourself so nervous. Besides, Viola doesn't dare
to do so."

Perhaps in Edwin's heart, Viola was still his granddaughter, Audrey's daughter. Moreover, no matter
what he asked her to do these days, she had done it without complaint. This made Edwin care about
this granddaughter more.

Anyway, she was still Audrey's daughter.

Nicole couldn't argue with Edwin, so she only said, "I'll take you in."

"Alright."

The grandfather and grandson entered the room.

Seeing that there was no one around, Nicole told Edwin about what Viola had planned to do to him
some time ago.

After hearing this, Edwin frowned, and a trace of anger appeared in his eyes.

"Why did she become like this? I'm her grandfather! She actually wanted to kill me?"

Edwin never expected this to be true, but Nicole had no reason or need to lie to him. For a moment,
Edwin's chest hurt from anger.

Nicole hurriedly patted his chest and said, "Grandpa, I told you to be careful and not be deceived by
Viola's appearance. How about getting someone to take Viola away. I'm still worried about her here."

Edwin directly refused.

"No. You are safe if she is here. Don't worry, I will pay more attention in the future."

Edwin insisted so much that Nicole could not argue, but she always felt that something was wrong with
this matter.

Did Viola do nothing to Edwin?

Was Edwin fainting accidentally or intentionally?

If neither is true, why did she have bad feelings?
