“What did you say?”

Nicole was taken aback.

Didn’t Jacob cheat on Olivia?

If not, why Olivia would be like this?

Nicole was quite surprised and confused, but she couldn’t ask Olivia right now. When Olivia gradually

“Olivia, what on earth are you doing?”

“Does he treat you poorly?”

“Not really. He treats me very well, always caring about me. He also supports my career. If a good

Nicole slightly frowned.

Jacob didn’t look into the wire incident after Olivia fell. Why did Olivia think that he treated her well?

else?”

“If I had, would I be so suffered?”

“Then, why the heck?”

“The child?”

“Julissa Caldwell is pregnant. Jacob is the baby’s father.”

“Wait! You said Jacob didn’t cheat on you, but Julissa Caldwell is pregnant. Jacob is the baby’s father.
What the heck is going on?”

Looking at Nicole, Olivia said with a bitter smile, “They didn’t have sex, but she had Jacob’s sperm in
her belly. They tried the test tube baby.”

“Come again?”

Nicole felt the anger kept burning in her heart, almost burning out her reason.



When Olivia got to know this news, she was enraged. However, it was because of this matter did she
realize how much Jacob wanted a child. However, she couldn’t satisfy his desire at all.

“You didn’t mishear it. Behind my back, Jacob made a deal with Julissa Caldwell. The woman will carry
a child for him. After the baby is born, he will provide her with an opportunity to go abroad and even
give her five percent of his company. In exchange, Julissa Caldwell will never show up in front of us
and the baby will be registered as my baby.”

When she spoke, Olivia had already been numb.

Nicole, however, smashed the teacup in anger.

“You guys are doing surrogacy! It’s against the law!”

“I’m not involved. It was Jacob and Julissa. I didn’t know it until later. When I got to know it, that woman
had already been pregnant.”

Olivia took a deep breath and directly explained everything, “When I fell from the wire, I sensed
something wrong. After looking into the matter, I found the crew member who was in charge of the wire
has a connection with Julissa Caldwell. After the incident happened, they hid the wire while it was
chaotic on the scene. Later, I failed to find the evidence. That crew member also quitted his job. After
finding this out, I went to see Jacob, hoping he could explain why his assistant had done such an awful
thing to me.

“Jacob said that he would look into this matter for me and get me an explanation. I believed him.
However, shortly after, I received a text message from Jacob one day. He told me he got drunk and
asked me to pick him up. He gave me the room number. When I went there, I saw him lying with
Julissa Caldwell on the same bed. We’ve been together for several years, after all. Hence, I could tell if
he had done it or not. I just felt quite disgusted as I was framed by Julissa Caldwell and Jacob didn’t
distance himself from her after knowing that she was hostile to me. After that, we had a fierce fight.”



She paused a bit, feeling a sharp pang in her heart.

Tears welled up in her eyes again.

She continued in a trembling voice, “Jacob swore that he didn’t have sex with Julissa Caldwell and nor
did he cheat on me. I told him to fire that woman to provide it. I told him I don’t want to see that woman
again. Jacob agreed. However, that afternoon, Julissa Caldwell came to see me. She showed me a
test result and told me that she was carrying Jacob’s baby.

“I can’t remember how I reacted at that moment. I only know my heart was broken. The topic of a child
has been always a taboo between Jacob and me. After I got to know you have twins, I planned to fly
over and accompany you. However, Jacob told me that he would be on a business trip and shortened
my holiday. Later, I saw him weeping in the bathroom secretly. It wasn’t until then did I realized how
much he wants a child of his own. However, I could never fulfill this dream for him.”

Nicole didn’t know how it felt when a man longed for his child but couldn’t, but she knew how heavy a
man’s burden was.

When marrying Olivia, Jacob had known that she wouldn’t become a mother in her life. However, he
mistreated Olivia on this matter. Was he a real man?

“Even so, he shouldn’t have done things to wrong you.”

“He has hurt me!”

Olivia raised her head, tears streaming down.

“Nicole, it’s not a grievance. He has hurt me. Without asking me for my permission and my
acknowledgment, he asked another woman to give birth to his child. Even they didn’t have sex, he has
hurt and insulted me! He thought as long as the baby is registered under my name, it would become



my own. It’s not from my own belly. Whenever I see the baby, I’ll remember how its mother has
disgusted me and how its father has insulted me for its birth! How could I tolerate it? I can’t!
Sometimes, I wondered if I’ve made a mistake to marry him. I’m so silly to believe that a man said he
would treat me well all his life!”

Nicole hugged Olivia, concerns, and anger burning her chest.

She didn’t know that Olivia had to stand so many things all by herself.

As if she had opened the gate to release her grievance, Olivia shed tears while said in Nicole’s arms,
“I’ve tried several times before. In the past few years, I went to see a lot of famous doctors and have
taken a lot of medicines. I also want to give birth to his baby, a baby belonging to both of us instead of
from another woman! How could he do this to me? Right now, he still hasn’t realized what he has done
wrong. He thinks I’m making trouble out of nothing. I truly feel he and I have reached the end of our
fate. Since then, I’d rather let him go and let myself go. Isn’t it good?”

At this moment, Nicole’s eyes were fully reddish. Endless anger had almost overwhelmed
