of the company. I would give you the full authority to deal with the Whites in the business cooperation.
After all, you are the only one who could promote the development.”

Gloria turned to look at him with a sweet smile on her face. She said calmly, “Mr. Brown, I really
appreciate your willingness to help me and invest in me. But, what do you really want from me?”

She stared straight at him, trying not to miss any hint of emotion on his face.

Your love! All I want from you is your love! Jonathan wished he could put it out loud to her. But he
didn’t. Instead, he said casually, “Except for the fact that I adore you, I have got to admit that the
proposal you made impressed me. No others in the company are able to bring forward such a perfect
plan. Besides, the White Group has developed quite a several good projects. It was a pity that I had
always been not optimistic about their senior management layer and their management idea. But with
you, the relationship between the two groups might be promoted. So, why not? I am a merchant, so are
you, right, Miss White?”

Gloria fell silent for an instant, her eyes tinged with ineffable complexity.

Every word Jonathan said intrigued her so much that she could not wait to say yes to him.

But she refrained from doing so, instead, she adopted an air of indifference and said, “We would
negotiate for the others in the future. As for the cooperation this time, I can agree with you. But the
company would decide how it is gonna be carried out.”



Jonathan smiled and said, “I believe in your ability.”

In another word, they had agreed to work together and officially embarked on the cooperation.

Gloria’s eyes glinted, but as she got up, trying to leave, Jonathan Brown smiled and said, “You don’t
wanna go out now. Jordy is next door. You might run into him.”

Gloria’s eyes narrowed and turned to look at him. “You chose this place on purpose?” she asked.

“No.”

Gloria shifted her gaze from his face in disbelief.

“It was purely a coincidence,” said Jonathan. “I saw him when I came here.”

Gloria did not buy it, but Jonathan was telling the truth.

She said nothing. Although she had got divorced with Jordy and she had the freedom to go wherever
she wanted to go, she didn’t want Jordy to see her with Jonathan.

Jordy and Jonathan were on bad terms for a long time, and if Jordy saw her with Jonathan, she’d,
without doubt, have a hard time for the next days. She had to take care of these things first.

Gloria looked back at Jonathan and said, “In the next few days, I will be on a business trip with Mr.
Collins, and our cooperation can only be carried out when I get back. Mr. Brown must be very busy
these days, too, so I suppose you won’t call me unless it is emergent.”

She was reminding him not to disturb her for the next few days.

Jonathan picked up the goblet and took a sip of the wine. With a faint smile on his face, he said, “Are
you trying to get back with him?”



“Get back?” Gloria laughed self-mockingly. “Why would you say that while we have never truly been
together?”

These days, it was just Jordy being Jordy, capricious and unpredictable. She never thought about
having any more connections with Jordy.

Jonathan smiled and said, “I believe in you, and I promise I won’t call you for the next few days.”

Gloria gave Jonathan a meaningful look and said nothing.

Jonathan and Jordy had been a pair of bitter rivals, and it was only natural that Jonathan didn’t want
her to be with Jordy.

A knock disturbed the harmony of the room at the moment.
