Jordy was absent all day, and Gloria felt at home. Nydia kept her company, chatting and laughing with
her. She was also forced to rest from time to time.

In the evening, Nydia asked her with a smile, “Girl, what would you like to have for dinner?”

“Anything will be fine.” She was not picky about food.

“Okay, I’ll get it ready.”

“Thanks.”

“No problem, I’ve kept it on record, and you will cook for me in return. As the saying goes, a drop of
water in need shall be returned with a spring in deed. I’ll have someone get the food ready, and you will
cook for me in person. It’s called reciprocity,” Nydia enthused.

Gloria was amused. “Fair point.”

Nydia laughed. In fact, she had bummed meals off many times. “Alright, I’m going to get the food for
you.”

“Go ahead.”

Nydia got up and left.

Just then, her phone rang. Gloria checked the caller ID before the smile in her eyes then answered it.

“What’s the deal?”

“Cousin, we haven’t been in touch for some time. Are you free? Why don’t you come to my house?”



Gloria was indifferent. “I’m on a business trip. Don’t you know, cousin?”

The call was from Angela.

Probably, Angela was trying to sound her out.

“A business trip? I’ve been on suspension and just got out of the hospital. Outdated, I just came back to
work today.”

“Congratulations, be sure to change your rash character. You don’t want to get criticized by everyone
and suspended again.”

Angela was trying to annoy Gloria, but the latter returned with harsher words. She was pissed off.

What a lowly bitch!

She took a breath and said, “The others may not know, but you’re clear about everything. Did that
happen because I was rash?”

Gloria smiled, “Who knows? Anyway, I hope you’ll learn your lesson. Don’t make the same mistake or
screw things up because of the same person again. That will make you look stupid.”

“What the…” Angela’s anger flared up, but her brows furrowed in the next instant.

What does she mean?

Screw things up because of the same person?

Has she found out anything?



Then she shook her head. No way! Gloria couldn’t possibly know their scheme. She believed that she
was oversensitive and said in a low voice, “Come home when you’re free.”

Gloria smiled, “I heard that your villa and other properties have been sold and that you’re living in a
rented apartment. Is your dad saving money to do something great? Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense
that you’ve come down to this.”

Angela was astounded. “What did you say?”

Our properties have been sold? And we’re living in a rented apartment? How is that possible?

Gloria laughed and said with composure, “I’m not sure about that. I heard it during the trip. How come
you’re in such a bad situation?”

Angela was dumbfounded.

She heard it during the trip? She’s with Jordy. Was she there when Harold and Jordy were talking
about the matter?

If words are from the two men, it should be true.
