I'm Not Getting Engaged to Her

Jordy looked back, and to his surprise, his father showed up at the door.

Newell was surprised to see Jordy.

"You're here?" Jordy averted his eyes from his face, not wanting to answer him.

Newell walked over to the bed, looked down at Gloria's pale face, and sighed, “She fell from a high
place but only broke a rib.Lucky for her.”

“Lucky?” Jordy’s eyes glinted ironically.

Newell turned to him and looked bewildered.

“What’s wrong?” Jordy didn’t answer.

He knew that this was not about luck at all, but a combination of Gloria’s clear mind and great driving
skills.

At that critical time, few women could protect themselves and their friends like Gloria at the expense of
a rib when they fell from such a high place.

Jordy had all kinds of complicated feelings.He always considered Gloria a scheming, vain, and self-
interested woman, but in that case, she was able to protect Nydia so that she survived unscathed.

Was she the woman he thought he knew? After the divorce, everything about her changed.She
became a stranger to him.

Did he never get to know her, or…she never showed him her true self? Jordy frowned, and the thought
made his mood bleaker.



Sensing Newell's fixed gaze on his face, Jordy said calmly, “Don’t tell Grandma about this.”

“Okay, I’ve told people to keep their mouths shut.Outsiders know nothing about this.” Newell looked at
Jordy.

"What about you? Why are you here to see her?" Jordy pressed his lips together, refusing to answer
him.

Newell continued calmly, “Gloria is your ex-wife.Her injuries are not serious.She just has a broken
rib.Aren't you a workaholic? You can go back to work."

Jordy gazed at his father coldly.Why is everyone being so sarcastic? He could see the mocking light
surfacing under his father’s eyes.

He impatiently took his eyes away from his father and fixed them on Gloria, saying indifferently, “That’s
my business."

Newell was unhappy with what his son was doing.He was sitting across from Jordy, also beside
Gloria's bed.

“If you can’t make her happy, leave her alone.How bad do you want her reputation to be? You want
people to call her ‘the other woman’ who comes between you and Angela?” Newell questioned in a
deep voice.

The chill between them seemed to freeze the air.And the mood there was subdued.

But Newell felt nothing.He knew his son well.

"Gloria won't want to see you when she wakes up.Go now.I'll get people to take good care of her."
Jordy's fierce gaze fell on Newell’s face.



"Dad, it's none of your business."

"Getting engaged to Angela while getting involved with Gloria is not something you should be doing.”
Jordy pressed his lips together, turned around, and said with a sigh, "I'm not getting engaged to her."

Angela arrived at the hospital.She heard him and paused in the doorway! Inside the room, Newell and
Jordy didn’t know this.

Newell looked at Jordy with a blank look.
