Jackass

George sneered, “Fair enough, but why were you so nervous just now? Why did you ask Nydia to take
care of her? Show me how uninterested you are! Admit it, you care about her. You can’t fool me!”

He was a little upset after Nydia was sent away. There were a lot of people who could look after Gloria.
Why did it have to be Nydia?

Jordy’s stern gaze landed on George. He was not happy either.

Undaunted, George snorted, “Ugh, a man like you deserve to be single. You’re not good enough for
Gloria.”

Unwilling to talk to the man again, he turned around and headed out.

He was afraid that they would end up quarreling.

Jordy’s face was icy cold. After George left, he sat alone on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and spat out rings
of smoke.

Instead of finishing the cigarette, he stubbed it out, but agitation grew stronger in his eyes.

George’s words had been engraved in his mind. He could neither get rid of them nor calm down.

His brows were locked in a frown. In the end, he stood up, forced himself to stop thinking about it, and
headed out.

Nydia entered Gloria’s room.

On the bed, Gloria was seen holding her phone with one hand. Nydia frowned and said, “You’re injured
but still playing with your phone?”



According to Jordy, Gloria was injured in the left shoulder. Nydia didn’t snatch the phone away Gloria’s
right hand for fear of straining her wound.

Gloria looked at her friend and asked, “Did George tell you?”

Nydia furrowed her brows and asked back, “He knew about this?”

Why didn’t that jackass tell me?

Gloria looked surprised. If George hadn’t told her, how did Nydia know? She had just browsed. Twitter
and found everything was fine. Her injury hadn’t been exposed. There were only some pictures of them
going to examine the site.

“How did you know?”

“Jordy told me.” Instead of thinking much about it, Nydia looked at her friend and continued, “How are
you feeling? Is there anything I can do for you? Have you had dinner?”

Gloria’s eyes flickered, and she shook her head with a smile. “Don’t worry about me. It’s a minor injury
that doesn’t affect me much. I’ve just had dinner.”

“I’ll be there when you change the dressings. For the next few days, I’ll be here with you and see if it’s
a minor injury. You can endure pain, and I know it.”

Gloria curled her lips. “I’m fine.”

“Who would believe that? You can groan as you like. I won’t laugh at you.”

“It no longer hurts that much. I’m really fine.”



“Never mind, you should rest. I’ll keep you company. Given your condition, you should stop playing with
your phone. What you should do is sleep. I’ll be here watching you.”Nydia was eager to ask what had
happened. Meanwhile, she didn’t want Gloria to talk too much and decided to ask about it tomorrow.

Now that Nydia was here, she knew that she could no longer do anything. Without a choice, she closed
her eyes and slept for two hours.

When she woke up, Nydia happened to come in with a bowl of soup.
