Chapter 729

Jordy’s Coercion

“You bet.” The head of the sales department curled her lips. In her early forties, she was in good shape
and looked younger than her age.

The uniform paced up her curvy body, and there was a distinct mark on the left side of her face. It was
a tiny tattoo of a rose.

No one knew why she got such a tattoo on her face, but it accentuated her charm. It didn’t look gaudy
at all.

“Fill me in.”

Freda looked the woman in the eye. Before this, they had some occasional interactions but had barely
talked. This woman was an acquaintance at best but was willing to help her?

She was puzzled and lamented about her situation. None of those who had great expectations of her
had stood up for her. In the end, an acquaintance did.

Humph!

How ironic!

Under her expectant gaze, Laverne Collier replied with a calm look, “Beg.”

Freda shook her head and said in a bitter voice, “How? I just cried out to Mr. Collins, but he ignored
me. It’s not easy to meet him.”

“I mean Gloria,” Laverne said with assurance.

Freda’s face changed in an instant. “You want me to beg her?”



Laverne smiled with ease, “This is the only idea I can come up with. Be aware that if you want to stay,
you’ll have to leave Los Angeles for good. What about your husband? What about your child? Would
you like to get separated from your family or take them with you?

Freda’s lips parted, but words would not come out. The look in the depths of her eyes was getting more
and more complex. She started to regret it.

Why did I argue with Gloria? What makes me think I could do that? Gloria’s status is special and
unchallengeable. Yet I acted like a wrecking ball. I must have been possessed.

She had a bee inlerlead.

Just then, Laverne spoke again, ‘This is your only option. Il becging her in private doesn’t work, then do
it in public or kneel at her feet. You have to get Jordy’s mercy through her.”

Freda turtied more livid and paidat Liverne. She was speechless and seemed to be questioning the
supervisor. Ilow could you ask me to kneel in front of that bitch?

Laverne forced a smile and left without another word.

Only the receptionist and she were left in the empty hall. The receptionist was far away and did not
bother to talk to her.

Freda was rejected and at a loss of what to do.

Jordy and Gloria were the only ones in the elevator.

It was an elevator for the staff members.

Jordy had a dedicated elevator but had chosen to follow behind Gloria.



This elevator was usually crowded.

When Jordy was taking it, however, no one dared to enter.

Everyone was going upstairs, but when the elevator came to the first floor, no one else dared to get in.

When they were about to reach the floor where she wanted to go, Jordy pressed the button so that the
elevator would not stop. Gloria furrowed her brows and looked up at the man. “What are you doing?”

“Coming to my office.” Jordy’s face was sullen.
