Pampering and Helplessness

After a moment of hesitation, she said, “Where are you now?”

I‘m going out of the airport. We can meet in a place near you. Wait for me anywhere you want.”

Jonathan should know how things were going on, but he had never stopped her because he respected
her. Therefore, she was grateful to him from the bottom of her heart.

If he had intervened, things would have been much more troublesome, or maybe she would have been
obstructed and then failed.

“OK,” she said and hung up the phone.

Nydia smiled slightly, “Tsk, he is chasing after you!”

Gloria raised her hand to tap Nydia‘s forehead and said, “What nonsense are you thinking about every
day?”

“Of course, I am thinking about business! Seriously, why don‘t you accept Jonathan? He is handsome,
powerful, and rich. He is standing at the top of the pyramid!”

Gloria said helplessly, “There‘s no reason. I won‘t date him no matter what. I‘m going to meet him later.
Let‘s find a restaurant nearby.”

“Okay, I‘ll send you there. But you two must have an important thing to talk about, so I‘ll wait for you in
another private room.”

Nydia shook her head without hesitation, “No! I don‘t want to be a third wheel! I happen to have some
work to deal with. I think I can complete it after you two finish talking. Call me when you‘re done. I‘ll
drive you home.”

Hearing her unwillingness to join them, Gloria didn‘t force her but nodded.

After they found a restaurant with a good environment nearby, Gloria sent Jonathan the address.

Seeing there was no problem, Nydia said, “Sit down and wait for a while. Don‘t hesitate to call me if
there is any problem. I‘ll be in the room next door.”

Gloria nodded and watched her walk out.

After more than half an hour, Jonathan arrived.

When he walked in and saw her alone, he asked in surprise, “Miss Maguire is not here!”

“She is waiting for me next door because she is afraid we will talk about something important,” Gloria
said with a smile.

Sure enough, he knew what she had done today. But she had never intended to hide it, so it was not
surprising for him to know.

The dishes had already been served on the table because Gloria had calculated when he would arrive.

Jonathan washed his hands and sat at the table. Seeing Gloria‘s face become smaller, he felt a little
distressed and said, “You lost some weight. How are you recovering now?”
