Chapter 823

They’re Machines, Without Feelings

They came at Gloria, and she was injured. If she went out again, she might be attacked by them. It was
not good for the inspection, so Jordy had to go alone.

Jordy said vaguely, “I went to the police station and gave them some money.”

Gloria’s eyes flickered as she realized his purpose of donation.

She nodded. “Oh yeah, that’s real work.”

Gloria already guessed what Jordy was up to. The Nossel Scenic Area was a wonderful scenic spot
that needed to be developed. When that day came, it would be totally different.

It was not part of the country, and everything was not in good order. The country would try to take over
it step by step.

The first step was to establish law and order so that the area would be governed in an organized way.

“How long are you going to stay here?”

“Until you recover.”

Gloria looked surprised. “No, I can move freely. I can go back anytime.”

Jordy snorted. He had just said she was trying to be brave, and now she was still doing this.

Gloria seemed to know what he meant, but she pressed her lips together and said nothing.

It’s his schedule. Let him be.

“How do you feel today? Does it hurt less?”



Gloria shot him a look of surprise and felt somewhat awkward watching his cold, grave face. She then
took her eyes off him and said quietly, “It’s just like what I felt yesterday.”

Jordy gazed at her. “Granny just called me.‘

Gloria looked up at him confusedly. If it wasn’t about her, Jordy wouldn’t have mentioned it.

The atmosphere here was good right now. Although Gloria felt a dominating vibe from Jordy, she was
able to handle it without feeling disturbed. Besides, they were like some kind of magnets and no one
else could get between them.

“What did she say?”

Jordy looked away and said calmly, “She was upset because I failed to get you back. She’s getting
older, and there’s a small chance she could see her great–grandson be born.”

Gloria froze for a moment and chuckled, “Karen wants to see us get back together. She likes me. I can
feel it. But it’s hard. You know so well how we broke up, and so do I. I have no feelings for you, and you
always hate me. It’s like we’re living in two different worlds. How can we get back together?”

Jordy’s face dropped.

Gloria stared at him as if she hadn’t noticed anything wrong and went on. “What did you say to Karen
then?”

Jordy sneered, “What do you think?”

He was not calm anymore. A frosty look crept across his face.

And his eyes became sharp.



Gloria frowned and looked puzzled. “I know you care about her feelings, but are you going to put it off
until the day she dies? I have no intention of getting married, but what about you? Are you going to
drag your heels on having kids? How can the Collins family have no heirs?”

Gloria’s latter remark sounded sarcastic.
