Gloria was sunk in thought.

“Be careful next time, Gloria. How about Jordy finds you two bodyguards so that I can rest assured?
Those thugs are putting the screws to you. They’re your enemies. You are not safe alone.”

Gloria just smiled soothingly, “Karen, I’m alright.”

Gloria had to find out who was behind them.

Karen still looked worried and kept trying to persuade Gloria.

Gloria finally succumbed to Karen’s persuasion and promised to seek protection.

Karen also put pressure on Jordy to get Gloria several bodyguards and felt relieved to hear him say
yes.

It was getting late, and Gloria decided to leave.

A driver who worked for the Collins family dropped Gloria off at her parking spot. Then he drove her car
to send her home before he returned.

Gloria was touched by Karen’s kindness and thanked the driver.

After Gloria entered her room, she took out her cell phone and called Irene.

Irene answered the phone immediately. “What’s the matter, my honey?”

“Irene, please do me a favor.”



“What is it? I’ll see if I can help,” Irene said and closed the car door. She just finished her work and was
now heading home.

Gloria told her what happened today.

Irene shuddered. “How could this happen?”

Gloria was about to speak when she got another call. It was from Nydia.

Gloria refused to answer the call and sent a WhatsApp message to Nydia.

The message read, “Hold on, I’m on the phone.”

As Gloria sent the message, she continued, “This wasn’t a random act. They know who I am and must
have someone behind them.”

“Leave it to me. I’ll look into it!”

“Good.”

They exchanged a few words and then hung up. Immediately after, Gloria called Nydia back.

Before Gloria could speak, Nydia asked, “What happened? Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. I’m at home. Don’t worry about me.”

Gloria kept her voice casual so that she didn’t sound like someone who had an accident.

Nydia knew well that Gloria was a good fighter, but she was afraid that the attackers were powerful too.

Nydia frowned and muttered uncertainly, “Are you really okay? Are you lying to me?”



“You can come and check on me now,” Gloria quipped.

Nydia was slightly relieved to hear that, but then she said, “Let’s do a video call.”

With that, Nydia hung up the phone and made a video call.

Gloria accepted the call, and Nydia was relieved to see that she was at home indeed and looked like
she was doing fine. “I just checked Twitter. I can’t believe they did that to you. Bastards!”

Gloria smiled, “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

Nydia frowned, “Where’s Bryson? Does he know about it?”

“He didn’t call me. I don’t think he knows,” Gloria said quietly.

How did he know about this? A lot of tasks fell to Bryson suddenly, and he was swamped with work. He
and his colleagues were having an emergency meeting in the conference room. Bryson didn’t even
know it was Jordy who got him into trouble.
